Instead of everyone making a thread similar to Sir Pepoy Josepito's (I was thinking of making one, so others might too), why not just make a thread for everyone's listening pleasure? And, of course, playlist expansion. I haven't updated my playlist in, what, four months?

Yeah, so, basically, post either:
A: What you're listening to RIGHT NOW, yes, as in at this moment (songs, okay, I don't want "me typing" as posts. NO SPAM, NO SPAM)
B: What your favorite song is atm (meaning the one that you can't help loving.) Of course, for some, this changes constantly. Post away.

Aaaand, rules. We can't have no rules.

1. No bashing of tastes. Civil discussion, maybe, but no "LOL UR LISSSENIN TO METALLICAA SUX >:DDD" posts please.
2. There shall be no post in this topic not containing a song! It'll lose its point if you post without posting what you're listening to. Right?
3. It would be nice if you could put a youtube video or something similar to go with your post, too. :>

I'll start!
Right now, I'm listening to Cupid's Chokehold by Gym Class Heroes. Good beats and funny lyrics.

It'd be nice if you put in a youtube vid or somesuch.

I'm listening to Soda Water by Jess Klein. I couldn't find the one with the "unecessary rap breakdown" by MC Frontalot, but this one's a pretty good live version. To the best of my understanding, it's about a world-weary woman's search for solace. Pretty bohemian, and lot's of crazy imagery. Klein's voice is still haunting my dreams.

Done and done.

Listening to Kotov Syndrome by Rise Against. I don't know what specific genre it is, because I'm not someone who knows those things, but I guess I should tell you to lower the volume a bit.

And, finally, I know some of you got sick of me singing Stephen Lynch songs, especially with no one else (except Patrick. He knows one song, iirc. Awesome points for you, dude) knowing anything about "that dude".
So! Here is one of his famous songs, If I Were Gay. SFW but possibly offensive to some people. My humor is like that, I guess.

EDIT3:
The Stephen Lynch song is not the version I know, so. Idk. You can also find most of his famous songs through You Tube, if ever you want to.

Hehe. Not to be confused with "If you were gay" by Avenue-Q. Ah gay songs...

I've been listening to ]The OneUps (this is just their homesite. Don't know if they have samples). For those of you who like game music (oh careless whisper yeah game music), they remix the music, basically, often giving it a jazzy feel. I have been playing it in the hut, so yeah.

Also, Aaron. "Get your hands out of my pants".

JESUS CHRIST MANDREW
You are a golden god. This is beyond magnificent. I think I drooled a little when I heard their Tristram remix. Yeah, that's right. Diablo Tristram.

I'm obviously listening to the OneUps now, but before that I was glazing over the synthesized beats of Pogo. Alice is one of his more fun and interesting ventures. It's a trippy electronica number using actual sounds from Disney's Alice in Wonderland movie. If you like that, I suggest downloading the whole Wonderland album off last.fm.

Good morning, GRAIL.

Today, I give you Wormholes by Busdriver. It's one of the songs in his 2005 album "Fear of a Black Tangent". This is most certainly rap/hiphop. Probably experimental.

I doubt if anyone would understand most of what he's saying without lyrics (which I haven't bothered to search. Yet), but I don't think the appeal of this song is in the lyrics, but in the beat and melody of the thing; just makes me want to dance. Or bop my head, which I mostly do. This is not your Tupac or Eminem your poetry.

I suggest giving it a try

Blah blah blah...

Just picked up something old. Hehe. How do you like that Aaron?

Anyone know "The Manhattan Transfer"? Well, I have an old cd, so I decides to take it out and listen to it. If you pass by the hut today (lololol), you can listen to it. Very Happy

Nizlopi Dump!

Well, not really, more of a "these are the songs by them I listen to most of the time" dump. Hmm.

Nizlopi is a... Well, I have no idea, but if you are the sort interested on who's singing, then you could probably find them/him on Wikipedia.

So, we shall start with everyone's favorite Nizlopi song: The JCB Song
A JCB is of course an excavator, but you knew that. This is the song that made them famous/semi-famous over at... Wherever they're from. Nostalgia bombing is the main strength of this song, and even if you can't relate with the nostalgic rush, you still feel like you could, because that's just how the song works. ;__;

Next is Freedom. Ye olde Love Songe, because every band must have them and especially one that sounds like Nizlopi. And it works! How many times I have slept to this song and had good dreams I could not tell you, mainly because I've forgotten most of my good dreams. What, you need more in the way of description? Just click it already.

Last is Faith. I couldn't find the acoustic version on YouTube, which is far superior and without the drums and extra your poetry in this version.

There are other songs, but they're not on YouTube, so I'll probably look for a different way to post them here. Enjoy.

Right. This PC's a womanly cur. Two songs.

First, We will fall together by Streetlight Manifesto which is a hands down favorite. Third wave ska, which is basically ska EXTREME. And the video's got pirates. So that's cool.

Second, and this one I'm betting people will like more, is The Mariner's Revenge Song by The Decemberists which is long but goddamn worth listening to. I guarantee this is will end up in your playlist.

Everyone should love The Decemberists.
This should be a forum rule.

I know what ska is, but this is the first time I've heard "Extreme Ska".
Does it mean it's noisier and faster than normal ska?
Anyway, I like it. Good ol' ska.

Also, for you vidya gaem lovers, have some Megaman inspired rock. The Protomen used to wear these careless whisper helmets to their concerts, afaik, but they've stopped doing it recently.
Unrest in the House of Light - I love this. Seriously, just click the damn link, listen to the music, and be in awe at how awesome of a concept this is.
The Will of One - HELL. YES.

I used to have the whole album, but deleted some of the ones that weren't all that good. The problem with torrenting them is that you don't get the order of the songs.

I think Joseph listens to them too. I am saying this so that it will make you click either one of the links.

Yep. Third wave ska is faster and louder. There's an issue, in fact, of Streetlight Manifesto embodying what will someday be known as Fourth wave...

Quick nutshell. First wave ska was pretty much dancehall. Desmond dekker stuff, usually played by the Jamaican immigrants in England. When the whites came into the scene, they made the beats faster, hence the ska token phrase "pick it up". Which can be represented by the awesome music of The Madness. Third wave is the most recent and has been the target of much criticism primarily because third wave was born in America, and has a lot more in common with rock music. And is so much more difficult to dance to. For lack of a better example, here are the Suburban Legends (because I don't want to use Less than Jake. Hacks, all of them). Streetlight's music is faster and rougher than the rest of the third wave stuff, and they've incorporated storytelling in their songs, prompting speculation that they're ushering in a new incarnation of ska music. Some reject this notion on the premise that Streetlight is the only band so far that can make that music. It's can't be a wave if it's just one band. Others have to follow suit.

In any case, that was a bit of obscure rockinroll history. The more you know. Smile

I don't know what you said, but I stopped at that part where you called Less Than Jake a bunch of hacks.
YOU ARE A LIAR.

You lie and lie and that is bad!

On a more serious note, I didn't really think about it until now, but I guess LTJ is ska, huh.

And now for some Say Hi, formerly Say Hi To Your Mom. I honestly liked their old music, but bah, no more talk, just links:

Laundry
Let's Talk About Spaceships
They Write Books About This Sort of Thing

Also, inb4 LOL MORE THAN 3 WRODS IN A SONG NAEM LOL HIPSTER POSERS
EDIT:
Edited my posts with music. Have some dicks in your ears.

I've heard this before. Hmm. Oh, here. This is the Newgrounds Megaman sprite video. If you managed to confuse Protoman with Racer X from Speed Racer (I know I did), watch this and see the pieces fall.

Well, no, I didn't because I never was a Speed Racer fan. I know that Protoman looked pretty Swish though.

And now, for Forum-breaking concepts, SUPERHERO-INSPIRED MUSIC. That aren't parodies.
Four-color Love Story - Superman
The Ballad of Barry Allen - Flash

Not just ClarkxLois, it celebrates RalphxSue, MurdockXNatchios, WaynexKyle. It's the entire love story every superhero has ever had the pleasure and misfortune of experiencing, ending, reminiscing. It's also a reminder of how lonely you will be this Valentine's Day.

Yeah, this song made me download random Flash comics when I first heard it.

Here's another one from Jim's Big Ego. About Green Lantern this time, entitled Green Rings and Starhearts.

HAHAH!
I'm sorry, but I modified my Firefox to show me what a link goes to, and it showed me it was a Rickroll. Fail rickrolling is fail.

In the vein of Protomen, have some more rock opera, but with ANIMATION:
God Slayer. GOOOOOD SLAAAAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!

Eherm.

I call your poetry. Nice try, though. And don't worry too hard about it; everyone gets rickrolled. You're not alone. So don't think too much about. In fact, enjoy it; it'll be the best 3 minutes of your current internet sprawl.

Listening to an old favorite, Bizarro Genius Baby by MC Frontalot. It's about exactly what it says.

That's a sad song, Job.

Me, I just can't get tired of it. Barney Stinson's Get Psyched mix

The name speaks for itself. No previews needed.

More Megaman-inspired music, but this time, with 100% more Japanese! Airman ga Taosenai or "Airman will not die".

Now, now, before you judge it based on its origin (Japanese are from Japan, true story), you'd want to listen to it first. Plus it's got subtitles anyway, I was nice enough to post the subtitled version. And did I mention the SNES-ish animation? Enjoy!

Can it be Idlewild time now? You know, the band with a lead vocalist that looks like Kevin Bacon in a certain angle.

You Held the World in Your Arms
A Modern Way of Letting Go
Live in a Hiding Place

I'm just dumping these now because there really isn't much to say.

EDIT:
Replaced "Hiding Place" with the better version, with less faggy "angelic voice in background". Get that out of my Idlewild.

I careless whisper hate Disturbed. Just stating an opinion. Not bashing your interests in any way. I respect that you like Disturbed, and this does not lessen my admiration and respect for you as a person, but I, as I said, careless whisper hate them. Not even saying why. Just pure malice towards them.

Edit: I'm listening to my father's snoring. It sounds a lot like this.
