Post subject: Sputnik comic store in Cubao X |
|
|
Sputnik Fantastic's this comic store in Cubao X.
Cubao X is located at the Marikina Shoe Expo in Cubao. Instead of just endless stores of cheap and funky shoes, artists and hipster types have invaded that secret location and set up shops that sell organic soap, vintage clothes, antiques, comics, and other funky your poetry.
To get there, I use this route: LRT/ MRT to cubao, get off at Gateway. Walk toward Rustans. It's across the street from there, beside the bus terminal. If you know where Bellini's restaurant is (and Patrick does, surprisingly), it's there.
The outside is deceiving, gentlemen. So go in and explore. Sputnik's the place with the melting walls. You'll know it when you see it.
Also, it's not a sale sale, apparently. They just have a cheaper dollar conversion rate than any other store. $1 = P45. So, for example, the Gotham Central hardbound volume 1 I got was priced at 30 dollars. Multiply by 45 = P1350 which is still so much cheaper than if I got it anywhere else. The other lads will attest to this miraculous mathematics.
What else should you know? Right, like I said, artist and hipster types. Not daylight people, so the stores open at around 6:00pm. Store's closed on Sundays. Also, no one knows for certain until when the magic math conversion will last. Best to play it safe before the owner/s decide the sale's done.
Good luck. _________________ Holy bad acid trip, Batman. |

THEY HAVE YOTSUBA!!!!
*drool*
lol
YO! Listen up! LISTEN UP!
We're planning a quick trip tomorrow. But we are still not sure. Anyway, we'll be meeting up somewhere in the Gateway Mall at about 5:45, then we'll head to Cubao X from there. If you can come, post happiness.
Also, we could meet up earlier to raid stuff, and laugh at things and all that. If several people agree to meet up (2:30 too early?) we could do this. SO YEAH! _________________

The place was interesting, and the shopkeeper was very accommodating.
They open at 4PM.
They have a second floor with toys. Astronaut Jesus - you must see it to believe it.

Lol. Ad time XDDDD
They sell comics, graphic novels, figures, statues, designer toys, and more.
Open from 4-10 PM, Mondays through Saturday.
Shop 60 at the Cubao Expo (formerly known as the Marikina Shoe Expo) on Gen. Romulo Ave., Cubao, Q.C (near Pure Gold supermarket).
Here's how to get to the place:
Stores somewhere at the end.
Click here to see the pictures I took of the store. This is important. Maybe. Well, it's cool. _________________

Field trip, anyone? I want to splurge before I shut meself off leisurely internet strolls, satisfying social relationships, and possibly org interaction. Just joking, of course. _________________ love,

Because of the LIES perpetrated by weeaboo comic-con presenters, let's go to Sputnik instead to drown our woes in comics bourbon (or real bourbon, for that matter). Or comics Shirley Temples, for all you teetotalers out there. _________________ love,

So when are you guys planning to go there? Is it anytime next week?
I may join you guys just to check if there are any new trade paperbacks of Usagi Yojimbo, or purchase a copy, if my funds allow it. |

I propose we schedule it on Friday, because at least if Arroyo gets the idea to truncate our holiday happiness and turn two holidays (Quezon City Day on the 19th, Ninoy Day on the 21st) into a single no-classes day (like she often does), there is a higher probability of her cancelling classes on Friday, since cancelling on just Wednesday would be counterproductive (middle of the week break, also too close to "no-work Monday") and would make less sense (Friday is unofficially the start of the weekend, socially speaking, anyway). |

I vote Friday too. If we do schedule a meet-up, what's the best place for people to meet? Sa Cubao MRT station na? Or at UP? |

Yeah. Friday would be good. Anyway, I'd vote for UP though Cubao MRT is still okay as a choice. |
