I believe it would be in this society's best interests that we tackle the very delicate issue of SPOILERS as the very subject, the very foundation of this organization was formed with the concept of keeping certain plot elements *hidden* for a certain amount of time as the reader forges on through a certain story so that the reader might properly experience the suspense and the pleasure (or the disgust) that comes with the discovery of the "twist" or "revelation" in the story.
I am quite disappointed, to say the least, to realize the absence of such an important matter within the rules outlined by Sir McBadass in the "Discussion of Matters Both Crucial and Timely".
To start the deliberation of said matter, I propose that we begin with the formatting of SPOILERS. Would mere "spoiler tags", as they say in the vernacular, before and after the spoiler itself satisfy our strict demand for order within these forums? Or should we implement more complex but more efficient formatting? And what about doling out punishment for would-be rule-breakers of the inevitable spoiler rule?
What say you, fellow overlords? _________________ the word |

Indubitably, good sir. I, for one, am appalled at my own ignorance and oversight. I apologize profusely for this ruffle, and I will endeavor to prove myself in the future.
As you, the good Pepito, have pointed out, this is a grave issue that we must resolve quickly and with little complaint from the proles, so I move that we use your style of spoiler formatting to suit this community's needs.
A blank expanse of 5 spaces before and after should suffice in preparing the reader for the inevitable spoiler, and the spoiler itself must be written in a miniscule font, so that only the irreverent and relentless may deem its significance. The spoiler tag, on the other hand, should be of a striking and eye-catching singularity, so I suggest it should be emboldened, underlined and coloured red:
As so:
Rorschach dies.
How's about we do that... thing... where... like... you have to highlight the text to reveal spoilers? Like in real forums?
Yeah, I'm the one who's the least verbose. Pretentious English majors! Have at thee! _________________ Batman doesn't have any superpowers... except his money. |

With the recent discussion of the events of Batman RIP that I and the MYSTERIOUS USER exsanguinatrix have partaken in, it has come to my attention that the proposed format for the concealment of spoilers is inadequate as it does not take into consideration the creation of an entire topic dedicated to the discussion of spoilers.
It would prove to be nothing but a hassle for everyone if entire paragraphs are set apart between considerable lengths and their font minimized to the size of microscopic organisms.
May I suggest that in the case of topics dedicated to discussion of a story that would inevitably lead to SPOILERS, a simple SPOILER WARNING be put into the topic title. _________________ the word |
Agreed. The first post, however, should still have the red, spoiler tag as a cautionary reiteration of its disastrous contents. Like so. _________________ love,

re: highlighting, how bout just setting the font color to #e5e5e5 (or to any gray hex code)
For example:
BLAH BLAH BLAH BATMAN DIES
just my .02 _________________ "Men were men back then, I'll tell ya. If you wanted to do something private with another man, it wasn't gay, no. It was just two men...celebrating each other's strength." |

Brilliant. We could nix the 5 spaces thing.
I found Carmen San Diego. She was in our hearts all along.
It still works pretty well. Despite the post color alternating from gray to bluish-gray. _________________ love,
