 Post subject: NYCC 09 - Six New Titles for the Batman Line |

Aside from Batman(probably with Morrison) and Detective Comics(with Rucka and J. H. Williams) returning from a hiatus, DC launches six new titles for the Batman franchise namely:
1. Batman and Robin (Dick and Damian?)
2. Outsiders (this title is counted? I think the series starts this month with Batman and the Outsiders Special #1)
3. Red Robin (Tim Drake or Jason Todd? Tim already wore the hood in Robin #183 and it's quite probable. What about Jason?)
4. Batgirl (Cassie Cain or Barbara Gordon? Babs on Oracle: The Cure mini searches for a cure for what? Would enable her to walk again? I don't know but there's a possiblity. Or maybe it's Stephanie! Whoa!)
5. Gotham City Sirens (with Catwoman involved. Would it be like a new format for Birds of Prey? Or a dark analog of BoP?).
6. Batman: The Streets of Gotham (maybe it's a collaboration between Batman and the GCPD but more emphasis on the part of the latter.)
Can't wait for June!!! But before that, Battle for the Cowl first.

And yeah, the preview is really bad-ass and heart-pounding. I really like J. H. Williams III's rendering. |

So, Didio said that Gotham City Sirens will will be lead by Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, huh? Reminds me of their Gotham Girls mini with Batgirl Babs and Renee Montoya. Heh!
Then, Streets of Gotham would be like BoP with Huntress, Batgirl, and Manhunter on the lead. I was surprised that Kate Spencer would be relocating herself in Gotham and she will become its DA. But what about Barbara?
Probably with Batwoman's involvement in Detective, the may be a possible collaboration with GCPD in a manner (I hope I haven't misinterpreted what has been previously mentioned about the series).
Outsiders continues continues on itself while Batman, Batman and Robin, and Red Robin leads are to be determined from the end of, oh well, Battle for the Cowl. |
