Gotham, as we all know, is a pretty depraved place. A out-of-townie lost in the bad side of hell has few choices: he gets killed in the most thematically outlandish manner; he gets killed using conventional means (like guns or a hemorrhage); he gets saved by Batman; or he bucks up, grows a pair of hirsute, fleshy cojones, and joins (or tries to) one of the more reputable gangs/criminal organizations/mobs (let's face it, who wants to join Billy Fleemer's Bad Guy Parade?).
Now, scenario; if you were said out-of-townie, and you also have a weirdly comprehensive insight on Gotham's criminal underground, which Batman villain's gang would you choose to join? Why exactly?
I'd join the Penguin's operation. Cobblepot is a business tycoon, first and foremost, and as a commercial mogul, he doesn't just need muscle, he needs accountants.
I can fake a good accountant jive.

Patrick has a point, more or less. Advantages of joining the Joker mob-- he doesn't care for money, but pulls successful heists if you (as a henchman) can tolerate his bat obsession. Disadvantage-- very, very possible death at the hands of the boss. A bullet to the chest is Mr J's way of saying you're fired. But you could become incredibly rich. It's like lottery except instead of losing, you die.
I would have answered Hush because I like Hush (everyone else shut the careless whisper up and sit the careless whisper down). But after what he did to Prometheus, I've changed my mind.
At any rate, I now pledge my allegiance to Black Mask because he is KING. |
