Apparently, back in WWII, the US government was enlightened enough to handpick an African-American to be their posterboy.

Granted, it's just a rumor, but still.

I'm pretty sure Bradley came after Rogers. And he was considered more of a replaceable guinea pig (for being black) rather than a potential American hero.

Moot point, I know. But the very notion of the Germans being foiled by an epitome of the racial ideal they hold gets defenestrated with gusto in Will Smith.

And black people fighting Nazis in general.
