I always wanted Steve Rogers back.

just read it
i can't say i'm too pleased about this with how this is all turning out to be a bit too sci-fi-y for a book like captain america (and the fact that bucky's really turning into something now wearing the costume) but i guess there really won't be any way to bring back steve without some crazy plot device
let's just see how brubaker tells the rest of the story
and here's an interview with the man, addressing the issue of "ripping off" batman's "death" and also pointing out the slaughterhouse-5 reference

So the mini "event" just finished and... I can't say that I'm happy with how it all turned out. It had its moments but they were too little in the overall plodding, unnecessary complicated yet not satisfactorily and cliched story.
*SPOILERS*
Steve just "willed" his time/space-displaced "soul" back into his body and it ended in one big brawl in front of the Lincoln memorial, complete with random MODOKs showing up and the rest of the "good Avengers" coming along, and cheesy one page victory pose for Cap. Only thing interesting now is Steve seeing some sort of vision that has the good guys all fallen in the wake of what seemed to be an angry thunder god wielding a hammer.
*END SPOILERS*
The delays were totally not justified for this one. Disappointed with you, Brubaker.
