Summary
Phase 1:
Don Dante Valestri is celebrating his 60th birthday. Attended by the immediate family as well as the who's who of Chicago's Roaring 20s, the bacchanalian fete at Ting-Ting's speakeasy is strictly RSVP. Well-wishers from the corrupt police department and the neighboring Chinese Triad are present. After exchanging introductions and pleasantries, Don Dante announces that he will be retiring from his capofamiglia position, tearing the will in front of his waiting beneficiaries, to "keep those vultures guessing."
Phase 2:
After the disquieting revelation, the Consoglierie and his bodyguard forces the partiers to convene at the cabaret for more refreshments and dinner entertainment from the voluptuous Ms. Fitzgerald. As Don Dante lights his first pipe of the night, he appears to be having some sort of attack. THEN HE DIES. As he is dying, Roja, Joseph and Don's characters sneak away SUSPICIOUSLY. Patrick cordons off the crime scene and Aaron shakes everyone down. Sam, being a doctor, examines the body and confirms that Dante is indeed dead. After everyone has been shaken down -- and EVERYONE IS ARMED, Joseph, Roja and Don return, which may or may not be noticed by everyone else. Patrick, however, notes that they have not been shaken down, which seems suspicious to him. He points this out to Mixka, and she concurs.
Phase III:
Joseph,, seeing the worried crowd, takes charge and commissions Patrick and Mixka to go through the initial channels of investigations. The children,
Bring weapons, conceal them on your person. You don't know who to trust.

Proposed Phase III
Joseph, seeing the worried crowd, takes charge and commissions Patrick and Mixka to go through the initial channels of investigations. Everyone, shocked at the murder and shifty because of their own personal and implicating agendas, ignore the Consoglierie and go about their night as if nothing has happened. They will be divided as follows:
Patrick, Mixka, Sam and Andrew:
-They'll search the scene of the crime for murder weapons and other evidence. Patrick and Mixka will go through the usual police procedures. Andrew will be wringing his hands, hoping the fact that someone died in his hostel will not get out. He will impede the investigations by blundering about. Sam will be taken as an expert witness as she's a doctor and she will notify them of the cause of death: poison. Unspecified what kind of poison as of yet. Hidden clue = cause of death, as ascertained by Sam.
Joseph, Roja, Racine and Hannah2:
-Roja and Joseph will play out a scene where they argue which of them caused this premature and unplanned assassination. Joseph will mention a standing contract for Dante's head, but it's not due till next Sunday, after church. They will be overheard by Racine and Hannah 2, who are in the room because Hannah2 is suspicious of her other mother's recent disappearances and frequent indisposition. Racine is there as she's Hannah2's mother. Hidden clue = Assassination contract signed by Joseph and Roja, discovered by Hannah2.
Job, Tinka, Don and Hannah1:
Job and Tinka are making out and Don's there because he likes Tinka's character not knowing his Dad intimately knows the cabaret singer. Hannah1 lingers and acts all waitressy (it's in the script). Hidden Clue = Impeccably worded love letter from the Don to the cabaret singer (secretly penned by the butler). Don will find it.
Marion, Aaron and Cai(?):
Marion will be freaking the careless whisper out as he's retarded and your poetry. Aaron, acting as a surrogate father and bareknuckle-boxing teacher to the poor mentally-backwards man-child will be trying to calm him down. Cai will be present at these happenings and will report Marion's crazy retard strength to everyone in the parlor.

I'm pretty sure we can stretch the limits of real-world science a bit here, since ALL the pertinent clues will be issued to our participants in the packets; what you know in real life is not necessarily pertinent to the actual murder mystery.
So the peanut allergy caused by weaning on tobacco will still fly, if modified a bit. The problem is breaking up the pieces of that one fact and disseminating said pieces effectively and to the right number of people, that eventually they will be able to put it all together.
