Reveal Clues are information the character knows intimately or has gleaned from previous investigation and snooping. Most of the time, these clues are proclaimed to as many people as possible without the knowing of the person being pertained in the clue.

Example:
Lukas: You suspect Lukas has been doing 'namby-pamby' with Marvin's girlfriend. You have no evidence to support your claims, but due to your naturally chatty behavior, you gossip with anyone who gives you a second glance. Try not to get caught in the act.

Conceal Clues, on the other hand, are bits of information the character knows intimately but will not be able to divulge until the proper trigger occurs. Usually, this will entail a drastic dramatic plot development.

Example:
Lukas: You have irrevocable evidence that Lukas did some 'namby-pamby' with Marvin's girlfriend. When he goes to your house and rifles through your email, tell everyone of his on-going affair. After you shoot him, of course.

Relations are basic descriptions of the character's attitude and general behavior towards the specified character. This is typically tempered by a short historical context of that character's dealings with the other.

Example:
Lukas: You and Lukas used be best friends and each others' confidantes. But, something happened. You became an overly-paranoid man-child who took everything seriously; a humorless doodoo-head, so to speak. Now, you hate him and all of his friends. You should be level-headed about this, but no, you deserve your irrationality because nobody understands you and you don't expect them to.

Profiles should be at least 400 words and structured as a coherent narrative.

Questions should be posted in the General Discussion thread.

Samantha Menancio Hautea: Knighting Gale
Rowena Picollina Valestri
Occupation: Physician
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: Haughty and highborn, you have a tendency to fold your arms when agitated and challenged by people you consider of lower standing. As a child, you used to stutter severely, but you grew out of it. However, you still speak slowly when pronouncing multi-syllabic words, and in your line of your work, you tend to do that a lot.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile:
You are Rowena Picollina Valestri. A well-known, if slightly demonized, community doctor, herbalist and tobacco specialist, you have worked incredibly hard to be where you are. Years of medical school, library plumbs, and hours upon hours of burying your nose in books, have dulled your eyesight, but have sharpened your wits considerably. Even so, your gender is slamming you against that glass wall of discrimination, and this causes you endless annoyance. You've learned to course through extra-legal channels to obtain what you want, but sometimes, the baldfaced ignorance of high society can whittle your patience. You've earned your social standing without the help of your father's influence (his money, perhaps, but not his influence), and you won't let some geriatric pissant who thinks with his dick talk down on you because you're such a 'pretty miss'.

You were always the over-achiever, an industrious young gun who answered all the right questions with flair and flash. Back when you were just a wee child, your medals, certificates, gold stars and stellar marks were all presented to your father with an expectant smile. Suffice to say, when he wasn't hobnobbing with his fellow wiseguys and meticulously managing his then-fledgling criminal empire, he completely, almost deliberately ignored you. Tragically neglected, you sought the solace, not of your other parent, or the company of your brothers (although, they both had their ways of cheering you up), but within the aging walls of your family's library, which, due to Cecil Tenenbaum Sr.'s cultured upbringing, was well-stocked with the English classics and some of the more esoteric fare. Here you've learned the basics of medicine, how to heal wounds and mend spirits. You've siphoned all your energies in trying to compensate for your father's less than adequate parental skills, and in your own, small way, reverse the Valestris reign of blood.
____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: You harbor a hidden grudge against your father because of his constant dismissals of your raw talent and hard-earned social standing. This is a deep-seated unresolved frustration, but you try to curb it to save face. A society lady must never look flustered in front of her peers and acquaintances.
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: You and your biological brother have always been close as children, as he was the one who constantly tried to cheer you up, providing an easy distraction when your father ignored your achievements yet again. You and Gio vowed to enter medical school together, but as puberty hit, your relationship deteriorated. Your adolescent years hasn't been favorable to the both of you, as you diverged paths: you, following through with your medical dreams, and him, transforming into a hormone-fueled, philandering Lothario. As you sighed and left home for a med school that accepted female students, you happened to glance at your old pencil drawing of you, Giovanni and Barnie, and you remembered the days when, despite the constant parental presence, they were all you had and cared for.
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2 You find your step-sister emotionally-backwards, despite her startling displays of business acumen. While you find her absolutely agreeable on her own (even admirable in her successful forays in the tea business), her self-righteousness--which shines brighter than God himself--scathes you. Try to put her in her place when she gets all high and mighty, but when she gets down, dirty and talks business with you, act professionally.
Benito Raphael "Barnie" Valestri/Marion: Probably the only sibling you have no ill will towards, Barnie was the only one to make you laugh, genuinely laugh. If Gio whisked you out of your little cubby hole of depression with a promise of another grand adventure, Barnie's antics made that adventure memorable. Realizing he was 'special' even before your father's doctors ever did, you opposed the notion of him being sent to an asylum to "bleed out the crazy". Your ice queen facade melts when you talk to him, and you treat him like the adult that he is, not some overgrown baby.
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: You have never-ending reverence for your mother. You respect her efficacy and forward-mindedness. In a lot of ways, you two are very much alike.
Caterina Belissima Valestri/Racine: You find your step-mother perfectly adequate. Choosing not to meddle in the intricate marital twists and turns of your father's whims, you simply treat her as you would treat every other flapper-turned-ineffectual-matriarch: with extreme revulsion.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: The Consiglierie works closely with your father, and that pains you so. Be it an Elektra complex you wish to suppress, or you simply do not like the cut of his jib, James is one person you'd rather avoid for fear of causing a scene.
Cecil Tenenbaum/Job: The Butler irks you. He seems to have inherited his father's unnatural, almost robotic efficiency and sprightliness. The way he runs his mouth as if it's his place to talk also causes you great distress.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: The Muscle is pretty okay a guy. You fondly remember him idly teaching you which bundle of nerves to pinch when you're attacked by some grubby mugger in dank alley. Cut him some slack; nobody ever does.
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: You suspect your father is focusing his amorous energies on this latest prospect. He has been attending Cabaret Night awfully frequently, too.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: Speculate with your siblings that you're nursing a suspicion that the Don is jobbing the Cabaret Singer in the metaphorical backroom. Watch your tongue; this will create problems if any of your "mothers' find out.
_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues:
Benito Raphael "Barnie" Valestri/Marion: You know Marion has been training under Johann, but you're not quite sure what reason. There was this one time when you two were children playing Ring Around the Rosies and he accidentally broke your arm. The Retard has untapped strength and you realize that teaching him basic streetfighting is tantamount to giving a child a rusty fork and telling him to operate on a tumor. When someone reveals Barnie's tutelage under Johann, pull rank and cut them off before they do any real damage.

racine doesn't want to do it because she can't act and the thought of doing so makes her all jittery

and cai won't be able to make it if the nov. 7 date pushes through

they're all gonna have a big birthday bash with friends on that day

Don ManDy: fragmented fred
Giovanni Donatello Valestri
Occupation: Sotto capo (underboss)
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: Possessing unbelievable good looks and irresistible charms (or so you think), you tend gravitate towards the female persuasion more often than you're physically capable of (insert appropriately-placed wink here). Because of an unfortunate monorail-related accident, your left leg doesn't work as well as it should, and you have taken to using a cane for mobility, and for other "extra-curricular" activities. You dislike physical violence, so you're a bit on the soft side, but your charisma can peel the paint off the walls, so it all balances out.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile:
The noble savage. The classy sleaze. The perfumed beast. You are Giovanni Valestri, and you know it well. As second-in-command (sotto capo) and capodafamiglia-in-training, you have mastered the specific ins and outs of your family's rituals and codes of conduct. In all actuality, you are a good mafioso; in fact, you are the best one there is. You are a cunning smooth talker, a very capable planner, and have an air of dignity unrivaled in the Cosa Nostra. If you call a hit, the mark is dead within the hour; if you seal a deal, you can be sure the other party does not welsh on their end. Due to the Prohibition Act, your father put you in charge of the official ginrunning and bootlegging transactions your family makes. This is either a show of faith, or a test. You'd rather not mess this up.

Thing is, you have a bit of a problem. You have been diagnosed with a rare, if slightly uncomfortable, psychological problem: hypersexuality. You cannot control your libido when it sparks, and it shows in the way you contend with people. Gone is the deliberation, gone are the cold, calculating steepling of fingers, replaced with a rabid, insatiable mania for satisfaction. You have not stooped to behavior dishonorable to a member of the Mob, of course, as your gilded tongue and not-too-shabby bearing have served you well. In more ways than one.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: The Don knows your secret and sees your uncontrollable urges as a liability. This irks you, as he turns a blind eye to your innumerable accomplishments and instead focuses on the naked harem walking down the hallway to collect their silence fees from Cecil. You couldn't blame him, though; those Tallahassee Cheerleaders were pretty smoking hot...
Rowena Picollina Valestri/Samantha: You and Rowena used to be really close, vowing to each other that you'll enter medical school together. But due to your "condition", and the fact that you've exhibited talents not suitable for any white-collar profession, you've grown apart. She's still very much your biological sister, however, and you treat her as such.
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: Don Lupito's second marriage incensed you. As you are very close to your biological mother and follow the strict mafioso code, you never fully understood the extent of your father's business decision. Crying betrayal, you stormed out of the wedding, until you saw the vision of Aphrodite sauntering from behind the church door. Shrugging off your initial protestations, you begin an exhaustively delightful conversation with the young lady. Delightful and stunningly beautiful, you find yourself hopelessly falling in love.
Politely and begrudgingly excusing yourself, as you were called to the altar to participate in a ritualistic merging of two like-minded families, you notice that your newfound acquaintance rises in tandem. Your eyes meet, confusion and realization mix.
You stonily walk out of the church.
You and Andreina consider each other with a measured caution. As you have never fully consummated, nor reconciled your conflicting emotions, you regard each other with a deliciously uncomfortable terseness.
Benito Raphael "Barnie" Valestri/Marion: The visage of your brother disgusts you. Seeing him more as an animal than a man, you'd rather see him put down than ruin the Valestri family's good name. Back when you were still kids, though, Barnie was a bundle of laughs, always capable of cheering you up. Now that you've learned the reason for his past shenanigans was actually an imbalance in his brain juices, your memories of him have been forever tainted with the notion that you've been living with a retarded ape for a good fraction of your life.
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: You are a Mama's boy, through and through. Back when you were a child, you loved your mother's soothing touch and caring songs. When you were indoctrinated in the business, you grew to respect her amicably strict way of running things. The Don wasn't really much into the whole protege shindig, so Dona Beatrice taught you everything you needed to know. If there's one person you can completely trust, it's her.
Caterina Belissima Valestri/SOMEBODY: Your step-mother is a tall drink of Pina Colada, and you cannot help but notice that. Flirting with her is dangerous business, but sometimes, you can't help but slip in the occasional innuendo and the rare sidelong glance. God, are those real? Must investigate further?
You find it weird that you can casually bounce repartee with this free-spirited former flapper, and sweatily be at a loss for words when in front of her daughter. Must be the hormones acting up again? Or a self-delusional wish to act out your deepest fantasies to the persona that remotely resembles your true love? You prefer the former.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: You have a healthy rivalry with the Consiglieri. You may not be as adept and experienced as he is in the business, but you learn quickly and you're familiar with the smell of desperation when it's been wafting in the Valestri household for upwards 20 years.
Cecil Tenenbaum Jr./Job: The new Butler is incompetent, sniveling fool undeservingly blessed with quick feet and an even quicker lip. You want to set him in his place, but your childhood experiences with the first Cecil compels you to give his successor a second chance. And a third. And a seventy-ninth.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: The Enforcer taught you a thing or two about advanced self-defense and his tutelage made your cane a deadly weapon. You're grateful of the man, if not slightly put off by his mushmouth bravado.
Ting Ting Wang/Andrew: You and Ting Ting go way back. You recognized the cunning glint in the Restaurateur's eye when you first patronized his floundering Chinese restaurant just last year. Striking up a Mob loan (with his daughter and his left kneecap as collateral), you soon saw your investment flourish into this aesthetically-pleasing Chinese restaurant juggernaut and speakeasy. He still hasn't paid his dues, of course, so leave the pleasantries to a bare minimum.
Xiao Ying Wang/Merry?: What a fine specimen of sweet and sour pork, she is. Ting Ting has been kind enough to give you what you need, whenever you need it. Well-versed in Chinese shagging arts, you've learned a lot from this young lady, so treat her with respect. Or what passes as respect for someone like you. (Oh god, I think I just insulted Don's culture with these two stereotypes. But I think it's okay, for I am an eighth Chinese)
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: The swing of her locks, the bat of her eyes, the wash of her husky tremolo and you're hooked. Diana Fitzgerald has cast her spell on you and you can't help but feel enchanted.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: You suspect that the Consiglieri has been planning something to either revolutionize the Mob's modus operandi or run it to the ground. You're not sure which, and when confronted, you'll stick to your noncommittal stance. But, since you two are at each other's throats for the longest time, a little smear campaign never hurt anyone....
_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues:
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: You believe that Andreina feels the same way about you, but strict Mafia and moral code forbid you to reveal your affairs. You have to take Fatima aside and tell her to never speak to a soul about your talk during the wedding.

Screw this noise. Hard deadline on Wednesday night, people. If we can't get them done by then, let's just forget about the whole thing until the end of the year. Thesis will rape my donkey pub if I don't focus on it soon.

Hannah Portugal: katastrofu
Fatima Andreina Valestri
Occupation: Tea brewery proprietor
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: You possess an easy-going charm and bubbly personality offset by your sanctimonious and holier-than-thou disposition when it comes to matters of the Catholic faith, or for every other matter, for that reason. This paints you as somewhat bipolar, but only to the heathen philistines who will burn in the eternal fires of Hell. You are quite opinionated in matters of faith and your business.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile:
You are the Fatima Andreina Valestri. Tea juggernaut, self-appointed verbal inquisitor of the less faithful, and all-around womanly cur queen. Whether it be problems in your tea business, crises of conscience (willingly imparted or otherwise), and simple math equations, you always have an opinion ready, a quip in hand to put people in their place. You're the queen of the tea leaf hill, and your acumen hasn't gone unnoticed by the great Don Dante, who requested your help in easing the integration of your two "businesses." As de facto manager and CEO (The sweet baby Jesus knows your mother can't even lift a finger to help with the inventory, much less handling actual responsiblity), you begrudgingly accept, secretly lamenting your mother's strumpet-like ways.

You didn't handle the integration of the two families well, because of the internal conflict the Mob involvement and your own personal religious fanaticism incites within you. As a daughter of a famous and moneyed (and thankfully deceased) oil magnate, you managed to invest your inheritance in all the right channels, eventually managing to start your own thriving tea business in the heart of Chicago. While your mother was gallivanting and opening her legs to the more-than-willing Mafia elite, you were closing deals with British tea suppliers. When the Mob Consiglieri James Risso approached you after that accursed wedding, he wished, with his amicable intimidation tactics, for you to supply the Valestri family an avenue to launder their ill-gotten gains and to turn a blind to the occassional icepick murder every now and then. Because of extenuating circumstances, you reluctantly agree, seething bloody murder at their appaling behavior.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: You don't know him personally and intimately (and you really don't want to), but you know enough to hate him with a bounding fury. This is the man who took your mother for his own personal entertainment, the man who stole your business, the man who stands for everything you abhor.
Rowena Picollina Valestri/Samantha: You don't know much about Rowena, as you find everyone remotely related to Don Dante to be ignominous sinners by association. But recently, you found out you have more in common than you think. She admits she's a self-made professional, just like you, but under that cold exterior lies the eyes of mafioso's daughter. Do not throw caution to the wind.
You also know that Rowena is well-versed in the ways of tobacco manufacturing, as her storefront is a two blocks from yours. Your grapevine yielded that a new shipment of tobacco has come in, and as you expect to venture in the cigar business soon, it would be imperative that you and her talk business while you still can.
Giovanni Dontello Valestri/Hannah 2: During the marriage of Don Dante and your mother, Dona Caterina, you managed to spark a mutually spiteful conversation with a young gentleman who feels similarly towards the infernal union. Finding respite in shared scorn, you share stories, opinions and casual flirtation. Soon you begin to realize some of the more desirable characteristics of this youth: he's handsome, strapping, decandent in act and bearing--a trait you should find disgraceful, but for some reason, you don't find it as irksome as usual. You talk for the entire duration of the marriage, slightly touching, romantic kinesthesia exercised by someone who finds the feeling of bare skin disgusting. As the marriage draws to a close, your reverie was broken by the priest calling upon you to engage in an empty ritual of the binding of two Italian families. Sighing impatiently, you manage to adopt your initial behavior of churlish primp. As you rise, you notice that your newfound acquaintance rises in tandem. Your eyes meet, confusion and realization mix.
With shame and frustration palling over his head, Donatello walks out, leaving you alone to participate in the ritual.
You and Donatello have admittedly a strained connection. As you have never fully consummated, nor reconciled your conflicting emotions, you regard each other with a deliciously uncomfortable terseness. You're absolutely smitten by him that you manage to overlook his less than, ehem, faithful lifestyle.
Benito Raphael "Barnie" Valestri/Marion: You feel more pity than disgust for the Valestri half-wit. Born with less than accomodating mental capacity, Barnie is a testament that God strikes at the family via the fruit of their loins. Barnie is the avatar of divine retribution, so better be nice.
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: Beatrice is someone you can never call "mother", either addressing her as "Beatrice" or "Babylon's whore" (not to her face, of course). You respect her superficially, because if you act otherwise, you might not have a second chance.
Caterina Belissima Valestri/SOMEBODY: This is your mother. While you genuinely love and respect her, you can't help but feel a bit apprehensive towards her carefree lifestyle. In one of your psychological introspections (on-site prayer vigils), you were blessed with the realization that maybe you wish her life to be yours. You imagine all the parties you'll be able to go to, the dresses you'll be able to wear, the drugged champagne you'll be able. You sighed a primordial sigh of fleeting fancy and you go back to work.
Your mother, surprisingly enough, has managed to contribute to your initial capital by selling off the gifts and favors given to her by the elite wishing to curry favor. You're not one to take a gift horse in the mouth, so you turn a blind eye to the origin of the money, silently thanking her as you verbally disparage her way of life.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: James Virgil Risso is the face of all your suffering. This man had the gall to threaten you and your family, man-handling his way as if you were but a liability in his calculations. If he does talk to you, put the fool in his place.
Cecil Tenenbaum Jr./Job: The Butler is an entertaining millefuelle of wit and barb, akin to a courtier in his dealings with the rest of the Valestri family. If he manages to indirectly insult you, act accordingly, but if not, stoke the fires of his jokes with some of your own.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
Rowena Picollina Valestri/Sam: Rowena has a new shipment of tobacco under wraps. As you're a woman of business, you spread this around, hoping to find information regarding the nature and uniqueness of this new leaf. You wish to delve into the inner workings of tobaccerie as it might be good for business.
_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues:
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: You believe that Donatello feels the same way about you, but strict moral code and your own personal shame in feeling the way you do forbid you to reveal your affairs.

Patrick Lipio: Neckties & Gnolls
Cassidy McEaneny
Occupation: Police commissioner
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: As the local police commissioner for over two decades, you have earned an air of authority only replicated by prosecution lawyers and Easter European diplomats. You have a bearing of duty and snappiness offset by the shady dealings you have with Italian Mob. Adopting a manner of proactive innocence, you have managed to conceal this fact from the rest of the precinct, which is not really that hard, knowing full well that clean cops are harder to find than your wife during happy hour. You're the best at what you do, so you're sure that you can indulge in the occasional underhanded money grabs when the chance arises. Being an Irish immigrant, you have a melodic brogue to your voice, which helps in subduing thuggish types and facilitating monetary "bonuses".
_____________________________________________________________

Profile:
Your name is Cassidy McEaneny. A first-generation Irish immigrant, your family left the blood-flecked Emerald Isle to pursue greener and cleaner pastures in the United States of America. The eldest of five brothers, you have wished all your life to become a police officer, caught up in the illusion of the power it conveys. As your father worked himself to death at the docks and as your mother succumbed to consumption, you applied for your badge at the local precinct, passing with flying colors. When your mother passed, your father, disheartened by the prospect of being alone in a country he doesn't love, died of heartbreak shortly after. Sickened by your father's womanly disposition, you took it upon yourself to provide for your brothers (Hannigan, Lore, Poiron and Seamus, in order of eldest to youngest), knowing full well that your patrolman's salary is not enough to feed them on a daily basis, much less clothe and provide for their leisure.

Prior to the Prohibition Act, you were approached by an illustrious individual introducing himself as James Virgil Risso at a local pub. Recognizing the name belongs to the Consiglieri of the Valestri family, you and your mates ready your sidearms, ignoring the hulking shadows cutting an imposing figure by the doorway. With a wave of the Mobster's hand, the pub, slowly but surely, empty its contents on the sidewalk, a soft tap on the shoulder, helping you understand that it would be better if you stayed behind. Risso explained his position to you: the Mob needed a inside man in the precinct and who better to be their informant than the Police Commissioner himself? Stuttering to say that you're not a Police Commissioner, the Consiglieri replied with a lopsided grin. As you digested the double-meaning of his words, it dawned on you that this was the break you needed for you and your brothers to prosper in this accursed country. You and Risso shook hands, and that would not be the only time you do.

You were invited by Risso to the party to quell the suspicions of the new district attorney regarding rising Mob activity. Who else will give a more convincing report of Mafia goings-on (or lack thereof) than the Police Commissioner himself? Not wanting to go by yourself, you invite a local barfly and semi-daily drinking partner to be your date, Kelly Garland.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: You profiled the Don as a simple Mob figurehead. Charming and opulent with a flair for drama, the aging Don is but a symbol of antiquated Italian pride. Treat him with respect, of course. Even figureheads have a semblance of authority.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: The Consiglieri is many things to you: friend and enemy, Devil and God. You are more than indebted to his ministrations and influence, but you secretly harbor an envy for this little man and the massive power he wields. You still put up a mask of agreeable servility around him. You heard from a little bird, however, that Mafia members dare not consort with police elements, and the irony of this intrigues you.
Kelly Garland/Mixka: You've known Kelly for as long as you've been Police Commissioner. Appearing like a fireworks display at the Mourning Dragon Speakeasy, you tried to hit on this reasonably attractive young lady. After shooting you down with playful abandon, it surprised you that the girl slapped your back after you went back to your seat and offered to buy you both a round. Not refusing a wet lip, you accept, pleasantly shocked that she ordered ten shots of Chicago Ribsplitter. Smirking at the sheer audacity of this tiny slip of a girl, you ironically toast to good health and down the sharp, burning vitriol. After the third shot, your judgment began to fracture and your vision started to frizz, while the girl maintained a rousing discourse on monorail courtesy. As you downed your fifth and final shot, or at least you think so, you dribble your victorious mewl, banging your head on the counter, not realizing you just drank the alcohol haze of an empty shot glass. The girl taps your head and you manage to raise your eyes, a captive inebriated audience. You watch helplessly as she downs your last shot for you.
After that incident, you began to see Kelly every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as you do your daily speakeasy runs. You've never put much stock in drinking buddies as you take an almost enlightened attitude stance when it comes to alcohol; "Respect the soak, and the soak will respect you," as you always say (except for Ribsplitters; those things were brewed with two things in mind: to get as much alcohol as one can in one's system, and to disinfect steamboat hulls). But Garland was different; she respected the drink and she respected you, and in some unnatural way, this made you respect her.
As you were invited to this Valestri fete, you thought that it would look much more natural if you had a date go with you. Since you don't know many women in your line of work (unless they walked the streets at night in risque attire, or tried to kill their husbands in their sleep), you asked Kelly, half-expecting she would snort at you and refuse. And so it was such a delightful change of pace when she agreed to your halfhearted request.
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: You remember Diana from her moonlighting days. She was unabashed, fiery and strong-headed, not afraid to talk back to her pimp, the john, you. She's a girl with great dreams and an even better voice, so it's no surprise you find her singing cabaret at the Mourning Dragon. In spite of everything, you're quite fond of her, so don't tell anyone you caught her that one time, drunk and drugged at a back alley, on her knees as she picked up singles dropped by an absentee client.
_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues:
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: Diana used to be the precinct's regulars, apprehended every now and then for solicitation. She lives a good life now, eking out a comfortable existence as a speakeasy cabaret singer. You're content that she's content. However, if she accuses you of anything, try to blackmail her with this kind of delicate information.

James Virgil Risso/Joseph: Never be seen with cops. That's the third commandment in the Cosa Nostra game book, or so you have been led to believe. The fact that Risso approached you, an obvious man of the law, disturbs and intrigues you. What is he planning? In any case, do not flash your badge. You're at the party as a simple guest; mingle and observe and try to concoct a believable story to relay to the prying elite. If Risso rats you out, this whole thing can turn real ugly, real fast. Good thing you brought your sidearm with you.

Roja Tejada: Alfred
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri
Occupation: Housewife
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: You may be the most powerful woman in the city of Chicago but all that power wasn't able to spare you from the outbreak of a disease that has yet to be conquered by science. You were infected with polio 10 years into your marriage with the capofamiglia Dante Lupito Valestri and all his wealth and influence fell short in curing you of the disease. You have been bound to a wheelchair ever since, having lost the use of your legs in the trying ordeal. Scratching and clawing your way to the top, you feel that you have gone through enough your poetry to attain your position that God himself must hate you for inflicting you with an incurable illness after finally "making it". You don't deserve this and it has made you cold and bitter, notwithstanding the tenuous relationship you've had with your husband right after you were cursed with that handicap. You've made a habit of dismissing anyone who you deem to be unworthy of your time (you're not going through the trouble of wheeling yourself out!) and skewering anyone who makes your blood boil with your sharp tongue. And you just hate stupid questions. Uttering not a word, you show your disdain with one raised eyebrow.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile: To call you the first wife of "the great" Dante Lupito Valestri and leave it at that would be an insult to your very being. You are the very definition of the modern woman, decades ahead of your fellow females: highly-educated, having learned from the best tutors your family could afford; career-oriented, choosing to focus on your studies to follow in the footsteps of your father in politics instead of fancying the male persuasion; which boils down to this - you know what you want and you take it. And coming from a working class family that raised itself up through civic duty, your father becoming the mayor of Chicago, championing the "rights of the people", you know the meaning of hard work. Although your father was a forward-thinking man, granting you, a woman, his very own daughter, enough freedom in your liberal pursuits, there was a limit to his openness. A limit which he found in the form of a man leading the growing criminal empire in his city - Dante Lupito Valestri. At first, you had great reluctance, as would be expected after living relatively unbound, but you conceded to your father's wishes in a show of gratitude to the opportunities he laid bare to you before.

Your union with the godfather of Chicago was purely a power play for the mafia and a means for the local government to appease the fastest rising power in the land and you are well aware of that. In fact, your gratitude to your father has become completely honest as you've achieved a pretty powerful position in linking the Valestri mob to the city's first family, resulting in near total control of the metropolis, something you've only dreamed of in your previous path in the pursuit of politics because of the obstacles your gender erects. And to top it all off, you quickly found out after your arranged marriage with the capofamiglia that he may have had the balls and bravado to kick-start the mafia's rise to power, but he lacked the brains to keep everything intact and in check and the ambition to achieve absolute dominance. Your lavish lunches were peppered with talk of the "family" and its booming "business" while post-sex conversations lead to hit-list heart-to-hearts. You took everything you learned from these conversations with your husband and, with your battle-tested mind, mastered the inner workings of the mafia within a year. Soon after, you're already whispering to Dante's ear in back room dealings and power meetings.

Time has passed and now you and Dante face the inevitable coming of death in your age. But even in the years after you contracted polio and you were confined to the chair and the years after Dante found himself another woman, he always came running back, showing a faint glimpse of the tenderness he showed you in the early years, just to hear your counsel... taking all the credit in every successful "business deal". And you've just grown tired of it. So tired you plan on putting an end to his life, with the help of the consiglieri, and so you can finally be able to say that it is the woman who wears the pantaloons in the family. Seems that his upcoming 60th birthday would be the perfect time.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: Although you never had any foolish romantic illusions coming into your marriage, you expected your husband to treat you like a lady and show you the respect you deserve but what little love you had for the man was lost when he married "that ditzy socialite" two decades younger than him. You have a sneaking suspicion he's at it again and this disgusts you. His constant glory-hogging, taking all the credit for your machinations, and the realization that you will die without ever holding true power while it is one poison capsule away, just because the steel balls you have dangling between your dead legs will only remain metaphorical, all this have pushed you to the edge. You have devised a plan with the consiglieri, James, to assassinate Dante and take over the "family business" you so rightly deserve.
Rowena Piccolina Valestri/Sam: You have molded your first offspring in your image. Intelligent, knows exactly what she wants and pursues it relentlessly and you coudln't be more proud with how she turned out. Though her contempt for people coming from a lower-class background has been the main source of your inner conflict with her because, for some reason, you just can't bring yourself to tell your daughter when to shut her mouth.
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: So much potential. Could have been the perfect son if not for his womanizing ways. You get on his back the most because you would just kill yourself if you let him grow up to become like his father. But you can only do so much with a grown man, much less the first son of the godfather and the sotto capo (second in command). Still, he shows his respect and affection well enough and you know that he will stand up for you like a good little mama's boy would. And besides, you taught him everything he knows about the business. He'll come running to you in times of need so be sure to be there for him. Just keep the motherly love to a minimum in public. You know how much he hates that.
Caterina Belissima Valestri/: Though the years may have cooled your general temperament about your husband's infidelity and you've chosen to just not bring up the subject, the pain of betrayal never left you and you know it never will. You refuse to openly converse with her and you keep dialogue to a minimum if it can't be helped. Still, she is the biggest blunder Dante ever made and you will drive that point straight through her harlot heart, pounding the proverbial hammer if you ever catch her talking trash about you or any of your children, whether Dante is within earshot or not.
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: She looks just like her wench of a mother but this time the mindless prattle has been replaced with self-righteous preaching. And unlike her mother, she actually has enough brains to warrant sufficient suspicion with the possibility of her doing something, anything, to mess up your plans. Approach with caution.
Benito Raphael Valestri/Marion: The only person who you show your locked up emotions to. Your ice-queen heart melts and a smile lights up your worn face whenever you see Barnie happy. You've openly cried to him alone in moments of great despair and you quickly come to him whenever he is in need. You would risk your life for him and you would end the lives for him.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: Perhaps the only member of the Valestri mob who you treat with utter respect as you have yet to see him make a move the family has regretted, laying the most meticulous measures and executing them with consummate expertise, and he is always planning one move ahead. You wonder sometimes how he lost out to Dante in the bid for the most powerful position in the mafia. With that in mind, you know for a fact that your alliance with James could very well end in you being double-crossed. Keep that in the back of your head whenever your discussing important manners, such as your scheme to lay Dante to rest.
Cecil Tenenbaum Jr./Job: You owe your sanity to Cecil Sr., acknowledging the fact that you could not have raised your children, especially Barnie, to become somewhat decent human beings living in an estate built on a history of violence nor could you have stopped yourself from tearing every strand of hair off of Caterina's head when you first found out about Dante's second marriage. So you willingly took in his son after his death, expecting the same steadfast support he displayed throughout his lifetime of service. And boy were you wrong. The only reason you keep this impudent miscreant of a manservant employed is your honored agreement with his father to let Cecil Jr. continue the Tenenbaum tradition of excellence in unwavering servitude. If he gives you lip, make him have a personal "man-to-man" talk with Mr. Krauser.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: Thankfully, Johann Krauser does his job and keeps whatever ill sentiments he may have for the family to himself. He carries out his orders and asks no questions. Which sometimes leads to a few headaches as he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. A little verbal admonishing would be enough. You wouldn't want to break your hand smacking his thick skull every time he messes up.
Cassidy McEaneny/Patrick: Because of your ties with the local government, you know who is in charge of what and you've shared the company of these public leaders before your integration into the Valestri family. It is no surprise that you know Cassidy McEaneny and his meteoric rise from lowly patrolman to respected police commissioner in a couple of years. Your intuition tells you that it could not have been possible without a little help from the mafia. And now James invites him to the party and he says that he'll tell you everything about it soon and how it'll fall in with the plan. Show Commissioner McEaneny proper courtesy but be wary in bringing up his profession and his motive for being in the party as he is in very dangerous territory.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: You recently reviewed the reports of the money-laundering "business" going on behind the the front of Fatima's tea brewery and the numbers aren't adding up. Is the sanctimonious little skank actually pulling a fast one on her own family? Is this her idea of divine retribution? You've yet to find the time to conduct a thorough investigation, focusing on the main task at hand of planning Dante's demise, but the conflict this little tidbit will stir up will be enough of a distraction for anyone who might have an inkling of your intentions. And it does your heart good to see Caterina and Fatima squirm.

_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues :
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: Your plan with the consiglieri to kill Dante and take over the business must not leak out to anyone, most importantly to your own children. But if he ever tries to backstab you, you can threaten him with "uncovering his insidious plot to murder your husband". You are still the first wife of the godfather and the mother to the sotto capo and your word is gold.
Cassidy McEaneny/Patrick: You are still in good with the mayor of Chicago who still wields considerable power in the city so if Commissioner McEaneny wants to keep his job, he better not try to ruin your plan of taking over Dante's position through force.

Lorina Navarro(?): AwesomeX(?)
Caterina Belissima Valestri
Occupation: none
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: You display the elegance of a woman of high-society, well-mannered and modest in the presence of your peers, but your beauty cannot be denied. You effortlessly exude exquisiteness and all eyes inevitably fall on your heavenly splendor. Not bad at all for a woman who is in her 40s. But as much as social graces will not let you deign in petty tittle-tattle, you are wont to engrossing yourself in conversation pieces you honestly have no place to talk about. Gossip is your biggest weakness and you just can't help but spill the beans and pry yourself into certain matters that need not be discussed.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile: The youngest of five daughters of an affluent railroad tycoon, you were born with a sterling silver spoon in your pretty little mouth, having two (or ten) handmaids and manservants rushing to your every beck and call. Being the youngest in a wealthy family entailed certain privileges, the best of which is enjoying the most attention from your father (or what passes off as attention). Dear old daddy may as well be carved out of stone whenever he's in front of those contemptible little wretches settling in land they don't deserve, roadblocks to the steam-powered train of progress. but once you put on that pout and those puppy dog eyes, your every wish is your his command. It may have something to do with the fact that you happen to have the most uncanny resemblance to your beloved beautiful mother who died right after giving birth to you, God bless her soul. She was the daughter of an Italian nobleman, a princess in just about every right, leaving no doubt that blue blood courses through your veins. And you will go out of your way to make sure that fact comes across as clear as the crystals that hang around your slender neck. You make your presence known in all the social gatherings of Chicago's exclusive elite. And it would seem that these aristocratic origins would automatically reflect in your behavior and it does... up to a point.

What else can a woman of your stature, never having worked a single day of your life and having all this free time do in these awfully gender-restricting times but to acknowledge the advances of the countless male suitors that come bearing oh so pretty gifts, many of whom come from well-respected and very powerful backgrounds. Being seen arm in arm with these influential gentlemen can only help cement your status as the woman to be. But of course, some of these advances led to "something more". From a kiss to tryst, you found yourself wanting more and more of these "thrilling escapades" to the point that it was no longer about the power but the satisfaction. Satisfaction that soon evaded you as these prominent old men with limp dicks weren't much to get excited over. Satisfaction that you only found after so long in a charming and strapping young lad... who tended horses in your father's private stable. Your most passionate nights were spent with him in the haystacks, something you admit to be unbecoming of a lady, but it was just too damn good. And it was too damn good to not have had something to bring it all crashing down, and it came soon enough through a kick you felt from your insides.

As soon as your father found out, the stable boy disappeared and you were married off to a decrepit oil baron whose idea of a honeymoon was a kiss of red wine and all night sleeping in. Thankfully, the baby was spared from your father's wrath, maybe because she has an uncanny resemblance to a long dead woman you see in the mirror everyday. Having been shamed through the entire ordeal, you've had to "work" your way back to the upper echelons of social strata. Raising a child brought a certain wisdom and with the passing of your father, you finally learned to pick a suitable partner that would safely ensure your place at the top once more. The capofamiglia of the Valestri mob, the godfather of Chicago himself, the great Don Dante Lupito Valestri.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: You knew from the beginning that you were going after the biggest shark in the ocean. Yet you also knew that your unparalleled charm and beauty would be enough to steal Dante's heart from that nasty disease-ridden crone. Nevertheless, you consider him to be your greatest conquest as you now enjoy wealth and influence unmatched by any other woman. The same pout and puppy dog eyes that worked on your father years back still does the trick and as long as you get what you "need" from him, you don't meddle with his affairs. Although it's strange with how a hint of jealousy seems to be appearing after you've recently heard from the grapevine that he's possibly having way too much of a good time with a younger woman. Has he actually found someone who is. dare I say, more beautiful than you? Must investigate further!
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: You cannot believe that Dante actually married the hag. You would've been nice to her had she not taken the first shot by calling you a whore. But truth be told, you secretly envy her position as she was the first wife and she continues to be a dominating influence in the family business. This resentment manifests itself in you taking potshots at her lower-class upbringing behind her back. Even with the security of being the godfather's new wife, you just can't be too sure with the power you know that womanly cur wields. If only you'd get some quality time with her. Alone. On top of a really long staircase.
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: The third most beautiful woman in the world, you love her like any mother who went through teen pregnancy would. You sent her to an exclusive all-girls Catholic school and you hammered into her head that men will be your downfall. You are thankful that she took this all to heart, becoming a devout Catholic and grimacing at the thought of touching a boy. You also admire her intelligence to make use of her... dead father's inheritance to invest in a tea brewery. It reminds you so much of your father. You feel guilty by hiding the identity of her real father but you think that it would devastate her pure and innocent heart to know the truth.
Rowena Piccolina Valestri/Samantha: Rowena is just liker her mother but with a louder mouth and an actual working set of legs. She may act all high and mighty as if she knows what it truly means to be high class but her lineage says otherwise. She is nothing compared to your child.
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: An interesting little thing, Giovanni is. He's got his father's good looks and he's also every bit the alpha male that his father used to be. He also knows how to strike up a conversation. The boy seems to have a tiny little crush on you and you remember the not so distant days of your youth when you played men like him on a slow day. But you can only play with fire so much and you know well enough not to possibly sow more discord in the family. His reputation as a playboy only makes it worse. You welcome banter but nothing more.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: The silent one with the unnerving stare. Of everyone in the Valestri family, he's the one that sends chills down your spine. You know that his position grants him an awful lot of power and you've heard a lot of stories about him. Toe-smashing, eyelid-cutting, fingernail-stripping, bone-breaking stories. You don't ever want to be alone in a room with him. And he keeps giving you that smile...
Benito Raphael Valestri/Marion: The revolting man-beast that could've only come out of that old crow's blighted womb. Show him your warmest smile. That usually keeps him happy. And when he's happy, he's not throwing tantrums that wreck rooms. You try to keep your fragile daughter away from him as much as possible. He seems to be showing way too much interest.
Cecil Tenenbaum, Jr./Job: What an amusing fellow. He's basically the court jester in Dante's kingdom. Take everything he says at face value. It'll be funny for the rest, it'll hurt a lot less for you, and you can always make him give Benito a bath. And he is your primary source for all the goings-on in the Valestri household.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: The man does his job and he does it well, seeing as how everybody else is still alive. You went through a phase of paranoia with Johann just after getting married to Dante, thinking that he could be given orders from that witch to make you disappear but after raising your hand once at him after you felt him walking behind, you've allayed your fears knowing that the bodyguard can actually shriek like a girl when confronted by women of power. Such as yourself.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: Thanks to the butler, you've found out that that gorgon seems to have had it with your husband and that there have been some very violent words said in secret that slipped through the cracks in the walls.
_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues:
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: You don't plan on telling her about her biological father anytime soon and if anyone were to even hint at the idea, you do whatever it takes to keep your daughter from hearing any of it.

Marion Portea: marionjasper
Benito Raphael Valestri
Occupation: none
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: Because of the complications of your dear mother's pregnancy, you left the womb two weeks late of the expected delivery which resulted in the increased physical development of both your brain and body. Your bones and muscles exhibit a greater size than most humans, giving you incredible strength and a great potential for athleticism. Unfortunately, your brain's increased mass as a baby did not give you the intellect of a genius as it suffered from being squeezed in by your dense skull. Your mental faculties have now been reduced by half, rendering you incapable of expressing yourself through words properly and comprehending long and complex word patterns. You manage to communicate with slurred phrases in broken English and answer with blunt one-word replies, throwing your arms up in the air in frustration at times. With this condition of yours, you tend to shy away from conversation and your eyes wander, only making eye-contact with the people you truly trust.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile: The third and youngest child of your mother Beatrice and the fourth of your father Dante, you are treated with a mix of compassion and aversion from your immediate and extended family and the rest of the Valestri mafia because of your unique condition. Your body has grown considerably while your mind has been in a state of stagnation for the past 12 long and agonizing years, most of which were spent cooped up in the vast Valestri estate under the care of your loving mother Bea. In your early youth, you would break your privileged playmates' bones when you just wanted to play tag and practice the moves Mr. Krauser taught you in the case of a stranger talking to you. Big Sister Wena would explain, telling you how special you are while Big Brother Gio would just shake his head after every incident. Ms. Caterina and her daughter, your step-sister, Fatima, catch your attention whenever they're around the manor like early Christmas presents lying under the tree, just waiting to be shaken and peeked into. If only they'd stand still when you're around. As for your father... you're not quite sure but you feel inside that behind the pin-striped suits and the tommy guns and the tobacco smoke lies a warm heart.

Because of all these conflicting attitudes pointed towards you, your vulnerable heart stirs wild with emotions you struggle to express. Your extraordinary might leaves you wary of showing much affection through physical means lest you end up putting a loved one in a hospital bed and it is nigh-impossible to fully translate the way you feel through words. Although there are the few who can truly understand you and your plight such as dear old Mommy and sweet big sister, the child trapped inside your massive frame is still yearning to connect with the rest of the world. And it is that very child within you that manifests either into a playful innocence or into an unbridled selfish fit of passion, swinging from one mood to another from the slightest of changes in the atmosphere.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: You wish for absolutely nothing else from your father but his love and attention. You will do anything to get these two things from him. Anything at all.
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: She is your rock. When the world shuns you, she welcomes you with open arms. You would answer back with a shower of affection through a tender bear hug, if you only she wouldn't lose her upper half as well in the process.
Rowena Piccolina Valestri/Samantha: The only other person besides your mother who truly shows love for you. She also treats you with a dignity you've never encountered from anyone else, showing a respect one would receive from a fellow adult. So you try your best to show that the respect she gives you is well-deserved.
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: You used to look up to him like any other little brother with a big brother would. But the moment he threw you to the ground and spewed those awful nasty words, his face a twisted mess of hate and loathing, things have never been the same. What was once admiration for Big Brother Gio has been replaced with fear as that point in time was etched into your memory.
Caterina Belissima Valestri/: She is the evil woman who took Daddy away from Mommy. Nothing good ever comes out of any encounter with your wicked step-mother. Stay away. That's what Mommy says.
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: Your mother said the same for you step-sister but there is something different about her. You don't sense the same hostility as you do from her mother and her beauty plays with your simple mind. She fascinates you. Maybe she's not so bad after all. Mother can't always be right.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: There is something about Uncle James that makes you feel uneasy. He doesn't like to talk and he doesn't like to play. And he looks at you with those eyes... Just don't get in his way.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: Mr. Krauser knows a lot. He knows a lot of games, he knows where to get all the shiny toys, he knows a lot about Chicago, he knows how to talk to girls, and most important of all, he knows to fight all the bad guys who want to do bad things to your family. And he taught you everything. He's the coolest guy in the world, the big brother you wish you had.
Cecil Tenenbaum Jr./Job: Junior is a funny little man. He likes to talk a lot and you don't really understand much of what he says but he looks funny and he acts funny and that's enough to leave you laughing.
_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues:
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: Big Brother Gio, the bully that he is, likes to take your toys saying how you'll only hurt people with them. One time, you particularly liked this one toy that he confiscated and hid somewhere in his room. You just had to get it back. You sneaked in, rummaged through his drawers, and found something else. Something shiny. A locket. With your steps-sister's angelic face in it. You would've kept it for yourself if he didn't come barging in, hitting you repeatedly with his cane. You still remember that moment, wondering what that shiny item could have meant but with it comes the fear of what your brother might do to you if it ever came out so you keep that memory to yourself.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: He taught you a lot of things but he also told you to not tell anyone about it. Even your mother. Because if you do, you probably won't see Mr. Krauser again. And you wouldn't want that.

Aaron Galzote: Uncle Gravy
Johann Krauser
Occupation: Bodyguard
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: Big, brawny, bad-tempered, and brainless; you are every bit the brutish bodyguard with the bowler hat you were born to be. You make your intimidating presence known the moment you step into a room with your hulking figure and you have everyone who isn't paying you shaking in their shoes with your piercing stare. But all the boldness and bravado ends when you're faced with a woman who knows how to talk you down. It reminds you of your mother. Your crazy German mother who beat you senseless as a child. You fumble with your words when you're in a conversation with a woman who can talk loud enough or confuse you with her big words and you recoil in fear whenever you see a woman raise her hand in violence towards you. So much for the badass bruiser.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile: You and your German mother were left by your Italian father in the slums of Chicago when you were a child. You vented your frustration of growing up without a father and taking physical and verbal abuse from your mother through bullying street urchins as a wee little big boy to fighting with the dregs of society for a buck and a bottle as a freakishly huge young lad. The street life was an unforgiving teacher but it taught you well as you developed the strength and the skill to beat back death that awaited in every dark alley. It was a hard life... until it got worse as your mother died from tuberculosis. She left you with her last request: to leave the life of a vagrant and become an upstanding disciplined policeman. You would have just nodded your head while thinking "NO" inside as she died but she did promise to haunt you for the rest of your life if you didn't agree to this life sentence. And so you joined the force as you entered your 21st year of existence, recieved all the formal training and promptly got your ass kicked and thrown in jail a year after for brutalizing a superior officer after he insulted your dead mother.

Lucky for you that your cellmate was a "wiseguy" and he was a witness to your beatdown of the copper in the precinct. You traded life stories in your short stay and once he got bail, he mentioned your name to a couple of friends of his and now you're working as a bodyguard for the one family that's really in charge of the city. It's been a decade and your mother has yet to "pay you a visit" nor you have met her in the afterlife and you get paid to beat the your poetry out of people. So far, so good.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: The big boss took you in and gave you the best job in the world. You have nothing but gratitude for the man and you even see him as a sort of father figure for providing for you and giving you a new lease on life.
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: Dante maybe the head of the family but you know that Mrs. Valestri is the real one in charge and you know it really well. She's only second to your mother when it comes to verbal beatdowns so you try your damndest to not piss her off. Not an easy task since you always seem to mess up whenever she tells you to do something. You never thought that handicapped women would be this scary.
Caterina Belissima Valestri/: Man, does she love to talk. You would have shut her mouth permanently ages ago had "the real Mrs. Valestri" given the order. But not only do you have to put up with her loud mouth now, you also can't help your reflexes that tell you to cower like a pansy whenever she raises your hand at you after she discovered your embarrassing little weakness your mother knocked into your thick head when you were a kid. "Thanks, mom," you say, secretly praying that she doesn't answer back.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: You remember his chilling stare and his shark smile when you first met him as he welcomed you to the Valestri family as its new personal bodyguard and you've never let your guard down ever since.
Rowena Piccolina Valestri/Samantha: Out of all the women in the Valestri family, it comes as a surprise that it is Ma'am Rowena who doesn't get on your back and actually treats you like a human being, given her track record of looking down on anyone who wasn't born into a life of fortune. It must have been the self-defense lessons you taught her like going straight for the balls that got through to her. Who says a little violence doesn't solve anything? Still, she is the godfather's daughter so don't forget to show her respect.
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: Sir Giovanni is one smooth mother-careless whisper. He knows his position and the power it grants and he knows how to use it well. And most importantly, he has the heart of your dearly beloved Xiao in his pocket and he doesn't even know it, the lucky manga by Kazushi Hagiwara!!. He is everything you wish you were, he is the object of your envy. You regret teaching him all those moves, particularly the ones that made his cane a deadly weapon. But what can you do? Suck it up, big man, and follow his orders.
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: You are practically invisible to her, just another one of her step-father's goons. And that's perfectly fine by you. You don't need the extra grief from the prissy little missy with an attitude problem.
Benito Raphael Valestri/Marion: Barnie looks up to you as a big brother and you get to live out your pathetic fantasy of being Giovanni whenever you two are together. It's a great feeling to finally have someone think highly of you and actually be the smarter guy for once! But all the your poetry aside, you have a genuine liking for the kid. And you won't deny him the privilege of learning the art of kicking someone's ass after teaching his two siblings a thing or two about it, especially with all that strength he's got in his body. Might as well show him what you're really good at. Inflicting violent pain. Lots of it.
Cecil Tenenbaum Jr./Job: What an annoying little prick. You used to pound on smart-asses like him back when you worked as a cop years ago. Now that you're basically on the "same side" working for the family, you have to restrain yourself from knocking his crooked teeth in whenever he makes fun of you. You cherish the moments when Mrs. Valestri gives you a little "one-on-one" time with the doormat.
Ting-Ting Wang/Andrew: The owner of the Mourning Dragon, your hangout after a long day's work, and the father of the woman you love. You actually find him much harder to communicate with than Barnie as Mr. Wang would rather curse at you in Chinese instead of listening to your very formal requests for his beautiful daughter's time. You've given up on that approach and you merely nod your head whenever he starts rambling on about how much he hates America.
Xiao Ying Wang/Merryan: After laying your eyes on this exotic little number on your first night at the Mourning Dragon, you knew right then and there that this is the place to be after a hard day's work of looking mean. Xiao Ying Wang is the most beautiful girl in the world... and she's in love with someone else, specifically your boss' son. What else is there to say but that you virtually have no chance? Of course, none of that ever really registers in that stubborn head of yours. You try to impress her at every opportunity you get and you gladly comply to any of her requests. Oh, and you've never actually had the guts to tell her how you truly feel. Not exactly the easiest thing to do as she has the habit of opening that pretty little mouth of hers and shouting sweet nothings to your face.
Shirley Grant/Hannah 1: Shirley's a good woman, always there to listen to all of your problems and keeps you from drinking yourself to death whenever you see Xiao in the arms of Sir Giovanni. Not exactly the best advice-giver but hey, it's better than nothing. She's the only person you can talk to comfortably so drop the tough guy act with her.
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: The Mourning Dragon's main attraction, Diana is a firecracker who knows how to work it and she works it good. But your heart's already held captive by another so you give Diana her dues as a great singer and nothing more.
Cassidy McEaneny/Patrick: You remember him from way back when you were with the police force. He was already police commissioner then when you got in. You never really met him personally but from what you gathered in the short time you were there, he's a wily one who knows a couple of very powerful people. He also frequents the Mourning Dragon, most of the time in the company of a young woman; indeed a strange sight to behold. His presence at the party makes you wonder but you're in no position to talk.
Kelly Garland/Mixka: Another regular at the Mourning Dragon and a woman who knows how to handle her liquor. But your problem with women with strong attitudes kept you from going past the mere courtesy nod whenever your eyes met in the speakeasy. There is a mild curiosity to know more about her, basically because she's the police commissioner's drinking buddy.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
Cecil Tenenbaum Jr./Job: You've seen him whispering to Ma'am Caterina in the dark corners of the estate about god knows what. And what better way to suck up to the first family than to sow more suspicion on the most hated woman carrying the Valestri name? That and you give another reason for Mrs. Valestri to consider giving that bothersome butler the boot. Kill two noisy birds with one stone. Just remember that you're still just a bodyguard so don't go running your mouth about this. You don't speak until you're spoken to but once the question is posed, go ahead and bury those two.

Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: You've been around the man for quite a while and you know that he is the quintessential playboy. It's not exactly a big secret within the Valestri household, although you're not so sure if the "extended" family of Caterina and Fatima know about it and if the rest of the family want his condition to be known by everyone. God knows you secretly want to get back at the smug son-of-a-womanly cur so why not do a little gossip-spreading? Just make sure that none of the "first family" finds out about this little vendetta of yours!
________

Conceal Clues:
Benito Raphael Valestri/Marion: Barnie's a nice kid but he's still Mrs. Valestri's darling son and she would jump out of her wheelchair and strangle you if she ever found out about your secret training sessions. You've made it clear as you possibly could to Barnie that he doesn't let anyone know about your informal lectures on how to kill a man with one's bare hands. BUt you know he is, especially with his mother, so you have to constantly remind him to keep everything hush-hush.
Ting-Ting Wang/Andrew: The nights spent at the Mourning Dragon talking to Shirley has led to some interesting stories and one about Mr. Wang himself stands out in particular. Word is that Mr. Wang is looking to invest in another business venture, possibly with his former handlers the Triads, without the knowledge of the Valestri family. You would have reported to your superiors but doing so would jeopardize the life of your love so you opted to keep this potentially disastrous bit of information between you and Shirley, invoking your powers of acting like an ignoramus to the fullest. And if anyone tries to get this out in the open, well, you do what you do best in those situations.

Andrew Pe: Ruled By A Cat
Ting-Ting Wang
Occupation: Restaurateur
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: Born and raised in mainland China and having only come to the land of the free at the age of 18, your command over America's native language is comparable to that of an 8 year old with a speech deficiency. Although your grammar and range of vocabulary leave a lot to be desired, you've taken the wisdom of the Orient with you, attaining a keen understanding of the goings-on of this brave new world and a masterful comprehension of its foreign tongue in the near 20 years of hard living and dealing with the criminal element here. "Know thy enemy". You've also managed to hide this genius of yours, feigning ignorance and respect through repeated head bowing whenever an American openly mocks and/or tries to swindle you, slipping away from shady deals and plotting the white master's demise behind his back.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile: You came to the United States of America on a ship packed with "human capital" to help "develop" her growing railroad system. You landed on her shores in California with wide-eyed wonder (well, as wide as your eyes could be opened), marveling at her sun-kissed beaches, her clear azure skies, and her budding cityscape surrounded by majestic mansions owned by powerful landlords. And yet you could not shake off the feeling of fear that this far-away foreign country would consume your very soul with its greed and lust for power as she enchanted you with her promises of prosperity the motherland could not provide. And although California had its beauty, it still had you working countless hours in back-breaking labor under the relentless heat of the sun with little to no pay. So you fled to the north-east...

Those words ring true now as you find yourself in the windy city of Chicago, after escaping the slave labor camp 19 years ago with your wits and your life intact. The sun is now blocked by dizzying steel heights that fence the populace in while lifeless factories and automobiles choke the air with their smoke; the industrial nightmare. Surviving the concrete jungle for a "yellow man" means sticking with your Asian brethren and that you did, striking a deal with the local Triads to set up your own restaurant, the Mourning Dragon, while agreeing to let them use the backrooms of the establishment as an opium den. But the profit on the "fine dining" end of the business never came through and your fellow Chinese who ran the operaton just didn't like to share. So in order to feed yourself and your daughter Xiao's big mouth, you turned to the most powerful family in the city. What was supposed to be an impossible task for a lowly "Chink" turned out to be an easy one when you found out that the personal bodyguard of the family itself was a regular customer. He put a good word in to the godfather's son and heir apparent and soon you were witness to a hostile takeover. But dealing with gangsters, white or yellow, is never easy. Giovanni Donatello Valestri, the golden boy/playboy of the Valestri mafia, set his sights on your daughter and politely asked for some "quality time" with her. You were in no position to argue and now you're looking at the biggest night of the Mourning Dragon where the entire Valestri family will be there to celebrate the birthday of its head, Dante Lupito Valestri. For the practical Chinese in you, things are looking up... or so they seem.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: You are grateful to the godfather's son for salvaging your floundering restaurant and saving your life in the process. With the Valestri name stamped on your business, you never have to fear for your safety. You owe your life to Sir Giovanni. Except you never got over giving up your daughter in the deal. What little consolation you get from still having her by your side in running the restaurant is taken away by the fact that she is hopelessly in love with that lecherous snake, Giovanni. What makes it all worse is that you have yet to actually pay the debt you owe him and it's starting to look like there is no way out of this hole you find yourself in. Well, there is one and it involves going back to your former "business associates". This tricky situation translates to a tension whenever you directly confront him.
Xiao Ying Wang/Merryan: Xiao is the only memento of warmth and kindness you had in this god-forsaken country given to you by your long dead wife and it pains you so whenever you see her in the arms of that well-dressed wolf, knowing full well that her heartstrings are merely being pulled for his satisfaction and that nothing more will ever come of their "unique" relationship. Xiao can be a handful with her impetuous attitude she would never have gotten back in the homeland so you find it hard to express your fatherly love to her. Gentle words of reassurance in your head come out as cutting remarks that only widen the rift between father and daughter. Manual labor was never this hard.
Shirley Grant/Hannah 1: You have enough on your hands dealing with your own daughter so thankfully, Shirley is an entirely different case. She keeps to herself and she carries out orders with complete subservience. The woman knows her place in society. Treat her with due respect.
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: Your biggest single money-maker in the business, Diana acts as if she owns the place. And you give her enough leeway to strut her stuff as she is your most valuable asset next to the Mourning Dragon itself. But you get enough attitude from your daughter so if Diana starts pushing it, you show her who's really in charge.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: His daily patronage is well-appreciated, his frequent eyeballing of your daughter is not. You don't need another sleazy gangster's grubby hands on Xiao, what more from an underling, so you snap at the German whenever he brings up your daughter's name. As for every other situation, you gladly engage in one-way conversations with him as the eager listener. You know how much he likes hearing the story of your life before coming to America. The entire 18 years. In full detail.
Cassidy McEaneny/Patrick: The police commissioner and long-time regular of the Mourning Dragon, you tried your best to ingratiate yourself with the man since you can never have too many powerful friends, but he would rather spend his time alone or in the company of a young woman who also frequents your restaurant. His dismissal of you is vexing but you can't deny a customer. Not the police commissioner. As for his invitation to Dante Valestri's grand birthday party, you have no real knowledge of how the mafia deal with officers of the law in their midst but you have a pretty good feeling that the good ol' commissioner will get what he deserves so smile mockingly, get out of the way, and let the moment unravel itself.
Kelly Garland/Mixka: You don't know much about her as she seems to be just another customer who haunts the speakeasy but you can't shake off the feeling that there is something more to this woman. Getting all the attention of the police commissioner and becoming his alcohol associate after drinking him under the table must count for something! American women are truly a frightening kind.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
Johann Krauser/Aaron: You found out from one of his drunken outbursts that he has a burning jealousy for the godfather's son and that in his own words said that he'll "stick his crooked cane up so far up his ass that it'll come out of his dirty mouth all stained with your poetry." You're not exactly sure what that means but it sure sounds vile enough to stir some delicious dissension within the mafia.

(i'm thinking of a conceal clue for the police commissioner but nothing's popping up. any ideas?)

tinamad nako

Merryan Jim: Not Merry(?)
Xiao Ying Wang
Occupation: Waitress
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: The only product of a frustrated father, you were considered as nothing but bad luck in his life as a child, receiving a verbal beating every time you set foot in his workplace where you inevitably end up breaking something with your curiosity-driven clumsiness and whenever you open your loud mouth that managed to learn how to talk back and blurt out an American cuss word or two. But ever since you passed that awfully awkward stage of puberty, you've become quite the woman, with your distinctly exotic Asian features attracting the attention of the mostly Caucasian male populace. But you never did gain that elegance that age brings nor did you grow out of your feisty attitude which you learned to bring out in full force when your person is "under attack" from brutes and smelly old cradlerobbers. Yet there is still a limit to the fight in your frame as you quickly melt in the presence of two men: your father, Ting-Ting, and the only man you are willing to please, Giovanni Donatello Valestri.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile: Born to a first-generation full-blooded Chinaman and raised in the land of milk and honey just a little after the turn of the century, you are now at a crossroads in your 19 year old life: to forever live in servitude to your father with his recently reopened restaurant as a waitress, attending to drunken old white men and suffering through their lascivious looks and, once in a while though way too often, "working overtime" to pay for the bills... or to "run away" with your handsome young capo in shining armor, Giovanni Donatello Valestri, the only man to ever treat you like a lady, back to his impenetrable castle he's soon to inherit, to live a life of wealth and beauty. An easy decision for the free spirit that is Xiao Ying Wang! The only problem is he's the son of the most powerful man in the city, the godfather Dante Lupito Valestri, and Giovanni's going to take some convincing to carry you off into the sunset on his mechanical carriage and defy his family's expecations. That and you've heard him slip another woman's name when he had a little too much to drink. Fatima. His step-sister. Perfect that the whole family's coming over to your old man's restaurant to celebrate the big boss' 60th birthday. Nothing your innate "beauty and charm" can't handle.
_____________________________________________________________

Relations:
Ting-Ting Wang/Andrew: Father Ting is the epitome of the traditional Chinese man, conservative in values but pragmatic in business and that mindset can lend itself to sticky situations in America, specifically in the city of Chicago where the criminal element run amok. He went through a lot just to open his now thriving business so you respect his determination and guile that got him into his position, even if not all of his decisions were sound. But you are still very much a free spirit and you won't let your uptight father keep you from your one true love! You'll show respect for the most part but your feelings for Giovanni will override common courtesy whenever his name is brought up in a bad light, even if it is your father.
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: Charming, good-looking, powerful. Just hearing his name makes your heart flutter and with his appearance, your undergarments drop. Giovanni treats you like a lady and he's grown to become quite the lover under the sheets (oh the things he can do with that cane!) after just a few sessions with him! You are in love with this man and you will do anything for him with a smile on your face. The only thing standing in your way is the gaping divide in social class between you two, not to mention he is the godfather's eldest son. But you live for these kinds of nigh-impossible challenges! If your father can survive having been dropped off in a foreign country with nothing but his wits and thrive on a business he started, you can win the heart of the sotto capo and his family and propel yourself to unimaginable heights of wealth and power!
Johann Krauser/Aaron: Long-time regular of the Mourning Dragon and personal bodyguard to the biggest name in the city, Johann is actually a pretty nice guy for someone so... scary-looking. You find it easy to tell him about everything you can't talk about with your father and your elder co-worker Shirley, namely your feelings for Giovanni Valestri. He's a very good listener. He taught you a couple of useful tricks for when a customer ever gets a bit too rowdy and he isn't around to keep the peace. He also has a tendency to do some pretty stupid things that end up causing your father's blood pressure to rise. Treat him well. He gets enough flak from the family he protects and from your hot-headed father.
Shirley Grant/Hannah 1: Your senior co-waitress and the elder sibling you wish you never had. She can be endearing in that overly-protective big sister kind of way, but with how she gives you unwarranted advice on matters of the heart and her yes-woman attitude towards your father throw away all that sense of endearment. Shirley's not one to get into any heated discussions, though, so you drown her out with your "strong" personality, finishing things off with a roll of the eyes. Just try not to be too upfront with your irritation. She still deserves some deference for her hard work and loyalty.
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: Things were going peachy keen in the Mourning Dragon until little miss hot stuff sashayed her way into the scene. Diana could've actually been a good friend as she shares that same kind of flame that you possess but the she-devil just had to dangle her goods in front of your man. You put up a cold demeanor towards her as you try to keep things professional, though you wish you could drag her out of the restaurant by her hair and put to good use the kick Johann taught you.
Kelly Garland/Mixka: Ms. Garland is one more peculiar patron of the Mourning Dragon, not just because she happens to be the police commissioner's favorite lady companion but because of her subtle but constant queries about your father's affairs and the nature of his relationship with the owners, the Valestri family, that only you seem to notice being slipped in whenever she chats you up or the rest of the staff. And even in your awareness of the fact, she has that air of ease around her that enables you to tell her just about anything concerning the business.
_____________________________________________________________

Reveal Clues:
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: Your distaste (jealousy?) for Diana can only be kept inside for so long and so you have no qualms spreading a little something about her you heard from the grapevine. Apparently, she comes from a shadier background than your father thought when he took her in as a cabaret singer. You're not sure what exactly it is she did in her past life but whatever it is can only help in sullying her reputation and increase your chances with Giovanni, that you are sure of!
_____________________________________________________________

Conceal Clues:
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: As much as you'd want to declare your love for Giovanni to the world, your situation is still a complicated one and his family might understandably not react so kindly to the prospect of the golden boy of the Valestri clan to be with a mere waitress of the speakeasy they run. Wait for the right opportunity to let him know of your true feelings or things might go sour.

Mixkaela Villalon: exsanguinatrix
Private Detective Kelly Garland
Occupation: Private investigator
Appearance/Mannerisms/Tics: Being a private eye does not leave you any room for feminine primping and preening. You dress practically, almost mannish sometimes, as pants give you the necessary mobility to chase after cheating husbands and fake cripples. You take your drink seriously, and you almost never get drunk, but when you do, you undergo a transformation that would make Jackie Chan's character in the Drunken Master series of films (which haven't been shot yet) weep with inadequacy. You're quite adept in various defensive martial arts, because it pays to be ready in your line of work. As a jazz fan, your speech is peppered with jive, jargon, vernacular and lingo, speaking with a harmonious blend of made-up words and aphorisms that leave your clients, and everyone else around for that matter, awed and not slightly aroused.
_____________________________________________________________

Profile:
Your name is Kelly Garland, Private Eye. It was a dark, and notably stormy afternoon, and you were still antsy from an infidelity case you just cruised and closed, when in walked this tall vision of straight-laced idealism bagged in a fleshy sack full of mental illnesses and suicidal tendencies. His name was Yardsley Plath, the freshly-minted District Attorney who foolishly promised to crack down on the Italian organized crime rings of Chicago, your city and your haunt. You scoffed audibly, predicting what he wanted and why he was standing in the middle your office, streaking mud and bodily juices on your threadbare carpet. He was carrying a large folder--or rather a collection of folders, untidily strung together with red yarn and good intentions--under his arm. You asked why he was there, what he wanted and how much he was willing to pay; SOP for the working woman on the go.

He deposited the monstrosity of paperwork on your desk, lighting a fag as he did so. You did the same. Cigarette smoking is your favorite social lubricant and coping mechanism, preferring it over a whiskey decanter in a hidden desk compartment. You like to keep your wits about you when you're in your office, and that's not really possible if you're fighting off a meaty buzz in your temples and temporary motor dysfunctions. You and Plath eyed each other for a while, gauging the other's gait and experience via the lines in your eyes, the hardness of your demeanor and the general loosening of the waistline. Not you, though, you keep trim, just like how Daddy Kenneth taught you when he involuntarily passed on the family business to his pride and joy. "Involuntarily" meaning he was found with multiple bullet entry wounds blooming scarlet spiders on his chest and face. You used to keep a day job, as a secretary to a local politician (and your dearly-departed dad's contact to Chicago's high and mighty), but when you found out, with his picture a tiny 4x4 photo insert on page 7 of the local rag, with his tagged toe and blanketed form your final and most vivid memory, with his blood-flecked trenchcoat and silver-plated cigarette lighter shuffled to you in a paper bag, you tightened the knot in your throat, balled up your fists and entered the smoked glass door of Garland Detective Agency, closing the door behind you as if it meant something.

And it did.

Three years later, you've established a name for yourself as the Chicago's Elite's favorite gumshoe. Of course, they've never actually met you, or seen your face, or even know your real name. You've created an elaborate web of contacts and trusty middlemen who entertain clients and pass on the actual legwork to you. You have connections in the police department, the bigwig law offices and the entry-level of some of the less organized crime rings. You have your fingers in most of the pies in Chicago, and most of them taste careless whisper terrible. Recently, you've resigned yourself to tutting housewives complaining about their husbands' late-night excursions and insurance fraud, steering clear of the degenerative pit of depravity that is the void of Chicago's infamy. Unless it's remotely connected to the murder of your father, you leave the status quo as it is, and with the Valestris virtually invisible on your formidable radar, you realize that maybe you're a bit under-resourced. Your father was out of his depth, plumbing into the dank underbelly of the Italian mob scene, and you realize this after three years of exhaustive research on the warring Chicago clans, uncovering their ruthless ways and inhumane dealings.

With the arrival of Plath, your heart skipped several beats. He presented you with a rare offer to exercise your info-gathering and method-acting skills. Confirming that your father was indeed iced by the Valestri Mob, he dropped several persons of interest that you may need to investigate to confirm his party's suspicions. More intrigued than puzzled and with the Garland adrenalin pumping vigorously through your veins, you asked how, as the Valestri family are basically ghosts, incredibly incisive in their operations and highly scrupulous with their info iron curtain. At this, Plath smiled like knife, and slid a blurry sepia photograph across your cluttered desk. It featured a young Irishman, wearing a snappy police uniform and scowling at the camera. You recognized him as a Mourning Dragon regular and the local Police Commissioner, Cassidy McEaneny, and as far you know, he's as clean as the New York sewer on a sunny day. He's also hit on you before, and even with full knowledge of his crusty Mob connections, his melodious brogue and laid-back intensity played your heartstrings like a lute. Wrenching your face in a half-smile, half-grimace, you peer at Plath over the photograph. As if on cue to enlighten you even more, Plath flashed a sparkling sheet of paper and handed it to your waiting fingers. In the failing light of dusk, with the rain coughing out its dying pitter-patters on your smoked windows, your eyes widened as you made out the curlicue words,

You have been cordially invited...

Relations:
Dante Lupito Valestri/Lukas: Dossier: Don Dante Lupito Valestri is still an anomaly. Region of origin: Unknown. Age: Unknown, but his birthday is December 20, if the invitation is to believed. Don Dante is the Valestri Capofamiglia, but the exact extent of his power is still largely unquantified.
Beatrice Alighieri Valestri/Roja: Dossier: Our intel on Beatrice Alighieri Valestri is dreadfully limited. Region of origin: Unknown. Age: Unknown. She is the first wife of Don Dante, and is confined to a wheelchair. There are rumors that she wields more power than she lets on, but those are unconfirmed.
Caterina Bellissima Valestri/Lori: Dossier: Caterina Bellissima valestri is Don Dante's second wife. Region of origin: California, USA (born). Age: 43. She seems to have been taken as a wife for her physical attractiveness, but the apparent takeover of her daughter's tea shop leaves room for doubt.
James Virgil Risso/Joseph: Dossier: James Virgil Risso officially does not exist. Region of origin: Unknown. Age: Unknown. Eyewitness accounts place a short, mustachioed man as THE James Virgil Risso, but we have no confirming evidence. Our limited research yields that he is the Consiglieri and unoffical taskmaster of the Valestris, but again, confirmation is nil.
Rowena Picollina Valestri/Samantha: Dossier: Rowena Picollina Valestri is the eldest daughter. She is a prominent public figure and has a practice on King's Crossing. Region of origin: Chicago, USA (born). Age: 33. An industrious social climber, Rowena is as ruthless as they come. She seems to have little connection to the Mob proper, but her studies have beeen exclusively funded by blood money.
Giovanni Donatello Valestri/Don: Dossier: Giovanni Donatello Valestri is the first son to the first wife and second eldest of the Valestri Four. Region of origin: Chicago, USA (born). Age: 31. He is deeply involved with the Valestri Mafia and (our contacts say) is being groomed for the Capofamiglia position. Currently second-in-command, the Sotto-Capo, he heads most of the extralegal operations with exceptional skill and managerial skills.
Fatima Andreina Valestri/Hannah 2: Dossier: Fatima Andreina Valestri is Don Dante's daughter-in-law to his second wife. Region of origin: California, USA (born). Age: 24. Fatima manages a thriving tea brewery located within King's Crossing. Due to her impressive management and business acumen, she has monopolized the coffee tea business in Chicago, all in the span of two years. Her success may have been the effect of possible mob involvement.
Benito Raphael Valestri/Marion: Dossier: Benito Raphael Valestri is the youngest son borne of the first wife, and is the youngest of the Valestri Four. Region of origin: Chicago, USA (born). Age: 22. Answers to the name "Barnie", the youngest has been diagnosed with a rare congenital defect that has augmented his physical strength, while stunting his mental development. Consider him highly dangerous, as he has been supposedly trained in martial arts by the Mob enforcer, Johann Krauser.
Johann Krauser/Aaron: Dossier: Johann Krauser is the most prominent Valestri mob enforcer and is usually seen with the man thought to be James Virgil Risso. Region of origin: Chicago, USA. Age: early 31. Johann Krauser used to be a detective of Chicago's Finest, but has been discharged for officer brutality.
You see the big chap from time to time in the Mourning Dragon. You find him pretty queer in that he doesn't speak to you at all, but is incredibly frisky when Xiao Ying requests his attentions. One time, you tried to coax him into conversation over beers, but he didn't seem that particularly chatty. Tough, you could've squeezed some info off him, but beggars can't be choosers. Is he actually scared of you? In any case, the guy's terrifying, but you can't afford to leave him alone. He's the bodyguard, he has to know something...
Ting-Ting Wang/Andrew: You owe a lot to Ting-Ting. Without him, you wouldn't have a comfortable nest and secure pub to get your alcohol fix. The guy knows how to run a speakeasy, and in your omniscient opinion, the only way to run a speakeasy is to keep it well-stocked. The prices are reasonable, which is strange, considering bootlegging costs have been skyrocketing due to the difficulty in obtaining quality liquor. You peered at the golden flakes in your 2-dollar whiskey and wondered if there's anything more to this bar than meets the eye.
Xiao Ying Wang/Merryann: Xiao Ying is a pretty, young, talkative, little thing, and you know this fact well. She's a good kid, loyal to her father, hardworking and attracts all the right people (which in your book, epitomized the definition of a "good kid"). You've asked her about her father once, twice, seventeen times, and she was more than willing to fill in your blanks. From her, you found out that the Mourning Dragon is in the Mob's pocket, but to what extent, she and you are not rightly sure.
Shirley Grant-Chung/Hannah1: Like most of the staff of the Mourning Dragon, Shirley is an accommodating and familiar figure. Too familiar, in fact, as you've tried to squeeze her for information in the past, and she saw this as an invitation to talk about her cats for 3 three hours straight. As far as you know, she's an unassuming, soft-hearted woman with a penchant for talking at length but not really saying anything at all.
Cassidy McEaneny/Mixka: Dossier: Cassidy McEaneny. Region of origin: Dublin, Ireland. Age: 35. Chicago Police Department's current Commissioner. Suspected to have close dealings with the Valestri Mafiosi. Ingratiate yourself to him, but approach with caution. Rudimentary interviews with his lieutenants show that he is untrusting.
Hooking Cassidy was easier than expected, as you know him personally. You still remember your first meeting as if it was yesterday. You were nursing your White Russian, studying a two-day old kidnapping case. As you were idly perusing the ransom note, a lanky flame-haired man went up to you and started to initiate a conversation. You were dreadfully busy, but not wanting to be dismissive, you trade witticisms, insight and well-formed opinions on Jazz music, for a while. After two minutes, you shot him down like a clay pigeon. He went back to bar with an ever-so-noticeable slump in his shoulders, and you went back to your case.
After finishing your review, you noticed that the Irishman was still sitting on the bar. Sighing, you sidle up to him and slap him on the back, introducing yourself as Kelly Garland, and in a flash of charming gentlewomanship, offer to buy him a drink. He agrees, shrugging his shoulders, which obviously tensed when you rang up the bartender for ten shots of Chicago Ribsplitter. The Irish, calling himself Cassidy McEaneny, swiveled his line of sight between you and the row of turquoise poison, incredulous. You downed the first shot as he sputtered to keep up. You continue where you left off a while ago, and opened a discourse on monorail courtesy, slightly disappointed that his responses have regressed to grunts and mush-lip babble after the third shot. You laughed out loud as he tipped back his "last" Ribsplitter, not realizing in his endearingly stone-cold drunk state that he drank an empty shot glass. You finished his line for him, tapping him on the shoulder to display your bravura and cast-iron liver.
You've formed somewhat of an easy friendship after that incident. You see him on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, when you swap stories and startlingly similar insights on human nature. You keep telling yourself that he's dirty blue, but the charismatic, cheerily loquacious and not unattractive man you meet three days a week is a far cry from the devious, underhanded and untrustworthy figure your investigations have uncovered. Even so, he is an asset, and when he invited you to the Valestri party a week after your meeting with Yardsley Plath, you've steeled yourself in using him as such.
Diana Fitzgerald/Tinka: Diana's voice is like a velvet blanket caressing the very essence of your soul. She's probably one of the best reasons to hang around the Mourning Dragon for a jazz fan such as yourself. She's not too shabby a character as well, as she willingly trades stories with you in between sets. You suspect she has connections within the Valestri mob, judging by her incredibly comfortable position as a permanent fixture in the Mourning Dragon entertainment, but you just chalk it up to her being that damn good.

Conceal Clues:
Kelly Garland/You: Yardsley Plath's dossier gave you valuable information on the Valestris, their relations and the magnitude of their power. If anyone finds out you've been snooping around (because, well, that's what you do best), or if you let anything you're not supposed to know about slip between your teeth, you're as good as dead. Tread carefully, all the while trying to uncover the real story behind your father's death. And if you can bring down one of the most powerful Italian Mob families while you're at it, so be it.
