DragonForce is, ummm, metal. I guess? In any case, they're pretty new to the music scene, so I managed to get into (or "dig", in the hip, contemporary vernacular) their music. They're pretty, uhhh, rad. Crazy guitar solos and high fantasy-inspired lyrics (combining two awesome things, as all should know, makes each even more awesome than when they were taken as separate entities) make them one of those bands I can never stop listening to. I listen to very few bands, mind you.

This, err, Youtube(?) video is the video of their song, "Through the Fire and Flames". A little over halfway, after the "death of Pacman" sound byte, is a womanly cur (oop. no-no word!) "riff banter" sequence (i dunno what it's called. help me, music board mod) between the band's two guitarists, Li and Totman (it happens a lot).

This is rad.

Yeah, I've heard of this band on *cough*Guitar Hero*cough*.

Though my favorite unlockable GH song by far is TROGDOR (THE BURNINATOR).

It's ALSO metal and high fantasy-inspired!

Rad! (2:34)

Just to inform you guys, these... guys have been around for quite some time so they are in no way "new to the music scene". A quick look at their Wiki entry shows that they've been at it since 1999.

And to help you with that question, Job, that is what I like to call "guitar wankery".

1999's still pretty early considering my age. Damn, I keep forgetting 1999 was almost a decade ago. I guess music chronology is different than normal people chronology.

Still pretty rad, though.

Weren't they named "Dragonheart" before the "Dragon Heart" franchise tried to sue them?

Would you believe I memorized four songs before realizing they were all basically the same? Of course you would!

Ask me about:

Cry for Eternity
Flames of Youth
Black Fire
Gods of Ice (though... I don't think it's them. It just says so on the MP3 file)

I am about to download the whole discography.

Someone tell me why, and whether I should stop.

Downloading the WHOLE discography isn't really that smart especially if you haven't even heard a song by them (you mentioned this earlier, yes?). Why not treat them like any other band; download two or three songs, preferably including one that is more popular, and then see if you like their sound.

With Dragonforce, I think it's best to stop with three, four songs. But I don't suppose anyone can stop you from listening to more.

SPOILER:From fear of being considered a DF fan: OMGOMG DRAGONFORCE SUXX THEIR SONGS ARE ALL THE SAME ALSO HOW MANY TIMES HAVE THEY USED THE WORD RISE FIRE FLAMES MIGHT FIGHT AND your poetry GODDAMN ALSO MARIO SOUND FX

Hey, Dragonforce is great for losing those pounds! I was alone in the house (no more katulong. Very Happy ), and I just popped a burned CD labeled "Dragonforce" from three years ago, and tried to sing and dance to the songs. I must've worked off a gallon of water. Of course, I'm going to have to mop up all that sweat on the living room floor, but I think it's worth it*!

Goddamn, I'm going to do this everyday.

*mopping also takes energy=calories=hopefully, weight. win-win situation is go!
