The people in the LJ post going LOL WHAT WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN IN FAIRY TALES make me wince. Haha. I love researching creepy fairytales.
Atmospherically, the concept art reminds me of this ooooold Disney game for the Sega Saturn. All I remember is that there was some your poetry about playing cards at the end of every level or something. Haha. Anyway. Discuss! |

So, they're basically deconstructing Disneyland? Are they basing this on any existing (lol) canon?
It does tweak all the pertinent fancies, though I'm not sure what type of game it would be. All we have going for us are concept art, which aren't bad, really. And let me be the first to call shenanigans on the "Mario Killer" bit. First of all, NO. Second of all, NO.

i'm not sure if it's a deconstruction (ala-American McGee's Alice) since there's nothing about the story-- no 'a twisted dream version' or 'darkness ate disney' or nothing. without the premise, it's hard to say what they're gunning for...
hype's dangerous, but as long as it doesn't turn into a sequel your poetry like careless whisper KINGDOM HEARTS (which i love to death, but goddamn, Nomura) i'll abide. i mean, people were incredibly skeptic of that particular collab when it came out, and it exceeded all expectations.
that said: STEAMPUNK + DISNEY is like the stuff my dreams are made of. literally. i really, really want this. |
