So we have a joint project with Lingua Franca and LCF (the French org) for the CAL Org Fest. The theme for this CAL Org Fest is Human Rights so me and the Lingua Franca head came up with the simple idea to put up posters that showed an illustration (GRAIL), a write-up (LF), and a French translation of the article (LCF).
The CAL Org Fest officially starts... NEXT WEEK! *gasp*
So this has to get done by Monday next week so we can put them up by Tuesday.
We'll be using A4 size paper and it's all gonna be in black and white to save money. We'll use around 3/5 of the poster, leaving space for the header which will have the article number of the human right displayed on that certain poster and for the write-up and translation that will be at the bottom. That gives us around 6 by 6 inches (ROUGHLY AUGH FORGIVE MY MATH) to work with!
I've chosen the human rights we'll use for the posters. Taken from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we have 5 to come up with illustrations that show that particular right in action!
Article 1.
• All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
Article 3.
• Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
Article 7.
• All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.
Article 18.
• Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
Article 19.
• Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.
To the people who "volunteered" to illustrate for this project, post here! You guys can fight amongst yourselves as to which right you want to choose!
We need everything done by Saturday (Sunday night at the latest). We have to put everything together by Monday and have them printed out.
So, fine visual artists of GRAIL, make yourselves known!

I'll be doing Article 18 and 19. (Well, okay, I actually just want to do Article 19, but I might be accused of being "madaya". Yeah, that makes Article 18 still debatable.)
