Hello hello! I'm Mika Bacani, a freshman from Fine Arts and, if it helps to remember, the applicant who came late during the orientation (I blame Inception!).
I'd say that my "formal" introduction to comics started with Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, thanks to a slightly embarrassing Vasquez phase, and 100 Bullets - never actually completed that one but the art blew my mind back then. Especially with webcomics, I start picking up titles if I know the artist or one that I'm familiar with has recommended it. Laughably bad or strange ones are a guilty pleasure that I indulge in once in a while.
Webcomics! I've read a ton and some of my favorites are Hark! a Vagrant, Perry Bible Fellowship, MS Paint Adventures, Dr. McNinja, Cascadia before it went on hiatus, Anders Loves Maria, Gunshow, and Shi Long Pang. Haven't been reading as much these days but I'm planning on picking up Girl Genius come sembreak to satisfy my inner steampunk geek.
As for comics outside the net I've recently finished reading Bone and Scott Pilgrim, and currently following Invincible and Chew. Trying to dip my feet into superhero comics and so far loving the JLI, plus Kevin Maguire's art as a bonus. I probably should throw Invincible in there as well, hm.
Other things I like include music and some video games here and there - running out of things to say, haha. That's it for now, I guess! |

It's okay. So, how was Inception?
Wow, there are so many webcomics I haven't read yet... And you've finished Bone AND Scott Pilgrim?!?! Cool!
About music and video games... what sort do you like?
Anyway, welcome! _________________ nya... =^_^= |

Johnny the Homicidal Maniac! Wow. That was also one of the first comics that got me into this whole thing! That, along with Sandman, was one of the couple of comics "exsanguinatrix" lent me when she was trying to recruit me into this org. Cool girl, you and the other apps should totally meet her (but that's unlikely since she FINALLY graduated last year).
100 Bullets is also something I love but haven't read past the 4th collected TPB. Heard it gets MGS2-level crazy at the end and loses what makes its so unique. Ah well, I love MGS2 so maybe I should read the rest...
Love Perry Bible Fellowship (which exsanguinatrix also introduced to me) and Dr. McNinja. Hark! a Vagrant is good, too. We've got a couple of members, old and new, who love Kate Beaton
Show your interest in music and videogames by posting something on the appropriate boards! _________________ the word |

Kate Beaton is ace, and PBF is awesome. If you haven't read/heard of it yet, try looking up Wondermark, which is like some bizarre Lovecraftian child of the two.
I'm Sam, by the way! Your local friendly externals head. |
