Slinkies.

I remember having at least five of these (not at all once, though; I'm not that kind of girl) before i turned twelve. Rainbow ones, metal ones, ones that glow in the dark, slinkies with monkey faces on each end. They were just so fun! How they changed colors! And you looked so boss when you "juggle" it between your hands! And don't get me started with the rascalities you can perform with stairs! Oh, yes! Slinkies and stairs were my first orgasm!

Sadly, slinkies all suffer the fate of getting tangled. Even you successfully unwind them after 2 painstaking hours, alas, they are never the same. Distorted beyond recognition, they would tear a gaping void into my soul. I would weep for days on end, trying to remember the wonderful, fun-filled memories, but whenever I try to derive some pleasure from my futile reminiscing, this image will always come back to haunt me:

RIP Childhood 1989-2000

I never owned my own slinky. I think I ruined others' slinkies instead.

We never had too much money for toys, tbh. I only got toys if someone gave me gifts on Christmas and birthdays.

But I had four Batmen (my favorite was the one where you push his back and his cape flies off. Oh, no, my favorite was the one that needed batteries so that his chest will light up. No, wait, I liked the Batman with a sword best. :> ), one Scorpion, two Venoms, two Spider-Men, one Mister Freeze (who I always treated like Iceman *ice slides in air*), two Hulks (one glowed in the dark! I loved that), and some Power Ranger action figures. I guess I loved action figures as a kid. I also had a complete set of the 1-inch Dragonball Z figures.

Oh. And K'nex.
